A tougher game than Newcastle imo. I think we'll nick it but only just. 1-0 or 2-1.

What a shocking statistic that is :lol:sutts07 wrote:
Not in the Premier League, we didn't in the whole of last season either.
Dec 2016, we beat Burnley at home, followed by Hull at home and then went and won away at Swansea. We also won away at Palace and then at home to Sunderland earlier that season.
Well you'd like to think that we won't get a better chance than playing this mob at home. Which probably means a nailed on 0-1 defeat to a big old lump into the mixer.

I love how everyone is pretending we're not definitely going to lose this match.
You all know better than that. Just use the week to make peace with it.

It won't be a walkover. Not unless we are absolutely at it.WorcesterWHU wrote:

If you discount the games against the top 3/4 all of the others have been very tight. Yes they have lost quite a few but often by the odd goal. Tottenham, Leicester and Everton only won 1-0, Burnley 2-1 and Bournemouth 2-0. They also had 0-0 draws with Newcastle and Huddersfield.
Creating chances won't be easy, taking them is vital.

This lot will sit in and stay compact, so a bit of patience may be required. Pellers will probably go with same again with the exception of Cresswell, but he will throw AC on at some point and I think that will get us the goal we need to collect all 3 points. Don't think they have met that sort of striker yet this season

Be interesting to see how Anderson reacts to getting clobbered, this lot don't hold back. They are a very physical team and can see The general and Diop getting their fair share of niggly kicks and trailing arms, if we can play through them we should fare well.
If Cresswell doesn't make it I'd go with Ogbonna gives more height at set pieces.
I'm in a friends pub watching this game so should be lively.

They rolled Wolves with their intensity. Match them physically and our better quality should be enough.

That level of arrogance will see us lose 1-0.
They will scrap for 90 mins and make it a tough old fight. I'll be delighted with a 2-1 win.
This. 100%!

Arthur cant play lb ever again. He is not interested. As well as being completely useless at defending.
To be fair...after we signed him he admitted he needed to improve his defending.
I would play oggy there personally.

If we’re all honest here, they’re god awful. On paper one of the worst the Prem has seen in a while.
If we have the right attitude we should win, but wouldn’t put it past us to f*** it up

I hope Grady Diangana gets a chance at some point during this game. Cardiff are exactly the type of Championship style basic as f**k bellends, like Burnley, that are tailor made to get given the runaround by him, especially when we have so many other players on the pitch that they need to worry about.
I actually want Cardiff to stay up, I was born there, I want Welsh clubs to do well and I've bizarrely warmed to Warnock, I think he's hilarious. That said, I hope we smash them and I think they're a crock of s**t, I really do, big lumps all over the park, pacey erratic as hell wide players, classic basic big lumps at the back, Harry Arter in the middle, they're just set up in a way that really annoys me  but I hope they stay up, but give us six points along the way.

Balbuena might miss out along with Cresswell.
Back 5 - fabianski - Antonio (zabaleta) - Masuaku - Ogbonna - Diop ?

Looking likely - fasten seat belts, this could be a game where we do literally have to lead with the ‘score more than you’ tactichammer1975 wrote:Could be a bit of a patched up back four
Cresswell looks likely to be out
Zabaleta to be rested given Pellegrini’s comments?
Balbuena being reported as having a dead leg
8-7 anyone?

A basic tactic for this one... win corners, have snodders take them, stick Carroll in the box.
And dealing with their big players when defending corners... stick Carroll in the box.
Easy
