Yossi and NRC were great. what game were you watching mate?Supersoulfighter wrote:Ethers, Deano, Collins and Gabbs were all awesome tonight- absolutly first class. Shaka made some decent saves, Yossi and NRC were pretty quiet but that build up to the second goal was brilliant, true teamwork. f*cking awesome performance, Come On You Irons!

Well with all the crap Pardew was getting from some the last few days he must be vindicated today... not only because resting the players proved worthwhile but how smart was he to sign Ashton at 7 million at a time when many were saying that is way overpriced - he is looking more and more like a bargain every day, and he is still so young, just wait until next year!!

if you look earlier in this thread, someone posted up a gif of ashton's first goal. the bbc has a crap 2x2-o-vision "highlights" thing:Tommy Cockles wrote:Any links to clips of goals and/or highlights? Would be much appreciated

which has the added bonus of looking like it has been filmed underwater - otherwise keep an eye open for the usual suspects....

Just got back home after having travelled up to Manchester.
Great team performance from all the players.
James Collins and Danny G were outstanding.
REo-Coker and Mullins bossed the midfield., with Yossi and Etherington giving us good width
Ashton's first goal was brillant.Harewood's running was tireless as ever.
Pardew's team selection was spot on. Brave decision to pick Collins at c-back and to play Dailly at r-back.Where are all the knockers now.
Estimate 6000 Hammers there. Not bad for a Monday night, when the game was live on the beeb. In the words of The Guardian "the visiting partisans hollered their theme in delirious celebration, though the only bubble which burst here was blue."
Roll on the semi-final, hopefully on the Saturday to avoid clashing with London Marathon - which I'm running.
