Great day out well worth getting soaked for  Good display from the lads, on another day we could have had 3 or 4. Nice to see Matty roasting them down the left, hope he keeps the form up.
Was also good to meet a couple of the mods from here (Gnome and Romford) enjoyed the pint lads and also good to meet another ex skydiver whose username has slipped my mind
I've now seen the game on Football First and we outplayed Birmingham. The 2nd half was mainly just us attacking them.
It looked like Noble, Upson, Etherington and Bellamy all had great games. I noticed how hard Bellamy worked and how his pace brings so much to the team. He made some great runs and just caused them loads of problems. Noble was back to his best and Etherington and Upson are looking much better.
We should of had a penalty in the 1st half when Kelly put his arm across Dyer. Also I can't see what Bruce is moaning about with the penalty that was given. Bellamy used his pace to get to the ball before their keeper and as soon as he did that the keeper was always going to go through Bellamy.
I must admit I was really impressed (going by Football First) with how quick we broke and just the general pace from the likes of Dyer, Etherington and most of all Bellamy.
We did look good Harvs, much better than last week. Bellamy looked good up front and we're definatly fast on the break, i think we're going to profit well on the counter attack this year.
As for Steve Bruce moaning, well its Steve Bruce isnt it
Etherington had a good game, but I feel Dyer, Parker, Noble, Ljungberg are our best four (hope Flaubert will prove worthy of a place ahead of one of them). Against the weaker teams an in-form Matty will do a good job but I think he lacks the class to help us compete with the best.
Much better than last week, but I feel we need pretty much everyone fit all year if we want to finish Top 8. Shorey and Gudjonnson, with maybe another midfielder and right back and I'll be in heaven. (Am dreaming clearly.)
For all the whinging we do about our right and left backs, you really just gotta thank god we arnt in Birminghams position. There left and right backs were absolutely awful yesterday.
As far as we go. Rob Green, you star. Brilliant brilliant save on half time. Awesome keeper. Bellamy was a menace al day. He likes a whinge though doesnt he. Dyer had a good game under tough circumstances. I doubt hes done much since the transfer fell through. He will be better for the run. Noble was clear as day MOTM
One question though, how the bloody hell wasnt that Kieron Dyer/Stephen Kelly challenge a penalty. The most obvious penalty ive seen in a while. 99.99 times out of 100 that is given. Awful decision. Id of been livid if we drew or lost because of that non decision
I think Curbs played it safe leaving out Deano, Lucas and Parker because of the rain. Hopefully another week and we will seen Neil at right back and Parker in midfield for Mullins.
