LC3: West Ham Utd 1 Plymouth Argyle 0 (26/09/07)
Can't see one so I'll start my first one
We have a very tough game on Saturday against the best team in the country both factually and IMO in Arsenal next weekend, a good cup result will do a power of good.
My team would be
Wright
Solano
Collins
Gabbers
Spector
Freddie
Parker
Noble
LBM
Ashton
Camara
Couple of kids on the bench and Parker as captain.
Rest Neill he needs it!!

How are they cup tied?WHamZam wrote:I say let`s try out a few youngsters for this one.
Wright
Pantsil Gabbidon Davenport Spector
Ljungberg Collison Parker Reid
Zamora Sears
Subs: Walker, Collins, Noble, LBM, Bellamy
BTW, Solano and Camara are cup tied, folks.
The team you've picked would give Plymouth a great chance of beating us.

Code: Select all
Boa-Morte Cole
Ljungberg Mullins Parker Bowyer
McCartney Collins Gabbidon Spector
Wright
Boa-Morte and Cole upfront isn't the worst of pairings. Technically it's not the best, but physically it's not too bad.
I think we'll have to include Ashton and Etherington. Possibly starting with them and trying to kill the game off before half-time. Paintsil, Quashie or Davenport should be in among the subs also.
It may be worth playing Gabbidon, Spector, or Neill at left-back - whoever Curbs sees as McCartney's replacement should he get injured.

Wright
Solano Collins Upson Stella
Ljungberg Collison Parker Boa
Ashton Bellars
Neill's been ***** for two games and could do with the kick up the arse, Parker/Upson should be able to captain us against Plymouth and it'll be good to see Solano being given a run out.
Good time to introduce Ljungberg and Parker and let them get a feel for the forwards (I'd keep Bellars and Ashton for that reason, as well as to let them carry on forging a burgeoning partnership).
Matty and Noble have looked tired so I'd let Collison (who looked good pre-season) and Boa (who seems short of practise) have a look in.
4-0 Ashton (2), Bellamy and Collison
Solano Collins Upson Stella
Ljungberg Collison Parker Boa
Ashton Bellars

No need to underestimate them.... Neill, Noble look like they need a rest... bowyer, etherington and mccartney can be rested for this one to give the others a chance to improve their match fitness... Reid seems to be deserving of a chance based on his performances in the reserves... Collins-Upson, Ashton-Bellamy and Parker-Mullins need to have a go at forming partnerships
Also, a few seem to be forgetting that Solano and Camara are cup tied

I'm not doubting he is jaded but it amazes me that a professional athlete can be tired after half a 7-8 games (incl Eng U21's) of a season.miles wrote:Noble DEFINITELY needs a break. Looked jaded as f*ck today.
Christ knows wahst going to happen when the heavy winter schedule kicks in and 3 games a week in the rain and snow.
