I honestly think that team would represent a massive test for l'Arse at Upton Park and though I said otherwise earlier in this very thread, I now reckon we can sneak a 1-1 draw.

Yeah I'll probably change my mind again before the match starts. If I do a new prediction per new page of this thread, one of them's bound to be right.

BubbleBoy wrote:We don't do it over here but I'd be tempted to play a 4-5-1 and man mark Fabregas (probably with Mullins) Etherington and Bellamy out wide supplying pace to support Ashton when we have the ball.

Mullins to follow Fabregas all over the park and whenever he gets the ball get right tight to him and don't let him turn and dictate the play.

We still might get beat as they have quality everywhere but if we make them bypass their best player we'll go a long way to getting something out of the game.
Don't know if Curbs would go for a 4-5-1, but I think it could work. I seem to remember a rather important cup game last century . . . we used a 4-5-1 against the much stronger L'Arse. I have vague memories of a 1-0 win followed by a week-long hangover. Anyone care to fill me in on the details?

CH puts a lot more effort in to type up all the tabloid stories on Sunday mornings.

All this guy on the Arsenal forum has done is used screenshots from the Skysports website. Though it's one of the better presented match previews I've seen.

Going to be hard to get something out of this, imo Arse are looking like a good bet for honours this season. Batter Fabregas early doors and get at em, Give em the treatment.
I reckon it will loaded balls in the area, hope to pick up scraps and nick a goal.

so far we've been very good on the counter, and that is the way to beat arsenal, as shown in the last couple of seasons.. so i have hope we can get something from this. it is essential we get the first goal or keep it goaless for quite some time or we will see the same result we got at newcastle

My team:

Green

Neill
Upson
Collins
McCartney

Ljungberg
Noble
Parker
Etherington

Ashton
Bellamy

Subs: Wright, Ferdinand, Mullins, Camara, Cole

Oh, and we'll make it last-at-highbury-first-at-emirates-first-to-beat-them-in-the-2007/2008-season with a 2-1 win.

--------------------------------------Green-----------------------------------------

Neill--------------------Gabbidon-----------Upson--------------------McCartney

Solano----------------Parker---------------Noble---------------------Ethrington

------------------------Ashton---------------Camara-----------------------------

If Solano is fit I want to see him soon. Ljungberg is still unfit. Parker is a good acquisition to the midfield. Camara over Cole is a must !!!

Didn't Curbs say today that Bellamy would play with Ashton?

I'd put Gabbidon in for Collins, other than that the same team.

I can see us geting some joy from set-pieces.

I must say I'm looking out the window at this ****ing rain and getting more and more excited about this match. A proper London derby on a slippery pitch with loads of noise and loads of goals.

Everyones over rating Arse, particularly their away form. It will be close but I'm confident.
