West Ham Utd 0 Arsenal 1 (29/09/07)

Post by homebrew »

Not sure what I would do if I were Curbishley but...

Get Bowyer off the wing and into central midfield along with Noble or Parker (IMHO Noble was pretty ordinary against the Barcodes - gave away a lot of possession with misplaced passes). Replace him with Freddy (Bowyer on the wing that is).

Put Cole on the bench and start with Camara and Ashton.

So my starting line up -

Green
Linda
Upson
Ferdinand
Neill

Ethers
Noble ( or Parker)
Bowyer
Freddie (although he looked pretty ordinary as well last game)

Camara
Ashton

Happy with a draw in this one.

I think it's worth just sticking Bowyer or Noble on Fabregas

Last season, when we nicked our wins, they were usually 1-0 (L'Arse, ManYoo,). This season, we've had two nicked wins back to back that were 3-0!

So, 3-0 it is . . . yeah, to us . . .

(ducks for cover and waits for the torrent of abuse that will justifiably follow  )

I think this is a good game to have after our defeat; we always perform against the big boys, so hopefully well be right up for it and take something from the game. Then we can take the confidence forward to the forthcoming games!

3-1 to the gooners I reckon. I’ve already booked my flight over so can’t wait for the weekend, but having watched a lot of Arsenal already, I will retain my pessimistic outlook/attitude.

and so, the first of our perennial three point bankers arrives. With excitement and trepidation, my mate the Gooner is quietly going for an Arsenal win. Silly boy. Just need to look at the history books to realise that this will be a West Ham victory once again.

And then I woke up.

If we manage to get a 1 - 1 draw from this I will deposit some sex wee in my boxers. Cant see anything in reality other than a scintillating Arsenal performance topped off with 3 well taken goals to our one.

I would like to see Collins instead of Ferdinand. Anton can switch off which I think he did against Newcastle. Only thing is that Collins can make few errors when he's been out for a bit.

I’d keep him in, to combat the pace of Arsenal’s strikeforce.

Your joking he must be the slowest player we've got.

Another Joker! Have you really been watching Ferdinand, he's slower than Collins and Upson put together

The defence needs to be organised big time as Arsenal are taking all their chances and scoring for fun. We need to put in a performance or i will be the ****ing laughing stock of the family :x

Can see us getting a draw at best, which will do me perfectly however i feel we will get smacked.

I think we should should try 4-5-1, with Bellamy playing wide right when we're defending, which will be most of the game, with Noble or Mullins man marking Fabregas, with Bowyer making the runs forward to support Ashton. When Bellamy makes runs towards the centre or towards the penalty area, Bowyer covers the right side.

I know people might not like this idea but they are just too strong in midfield and Green can't bail us out all the time.

Collins/Gabbs have done it before!

But Curbs will probably stick with Ferdinand/Upson even if they haven't impressed anyone. And Spector on the bench..... (it should be a joke, but ain't)

Green

Solano
Collins
Gabbs
Linda

Freddie
Parker
Noble
Ethers

Ashton
Camara/Bellamy

I reckon we should put out the meanest team possible and go for an all out red card fest, hopefully get the game abandonned and therefore awarding the baskets a 2-0 win. Best way to keep the score down I can think of.
