Might as well kick the thread off !
was gonna do Fulham but at £45 a tkt they can go and stick it !

need some info as regards the best place to park at the ground. Is the car park behind the away stand ok ? Or is it one of those where you wait about 5 days to get out ?
Also best boozer and place for nosh......
Any tips would be most grateful

Re: Wigan Away
The Robin park sports track is beside/ close to the JJB and the carpark is open on match days. Its sign posted from the M6.
Re: Wigan Away
Trouble is the robin boozer is crap, typical retail park pub with no telly and awful beer.........oh and its about 20 deep at the bar on match day.hammerjohn wrote:The Robin park sports track is beside/ close to the JJB and the carpark is open on match days. Its sign posted from the M6.

Re: Wigan Away
One year it took ages to get out of the car park, so the next time we parked up the road a bit.
Everyone got out quick for some reason and we saw mates driving passed us as we walked up the road

Re: Wigan Away
I shall be in attendence for this one. I'm going oop north on the Friday and I'm staying with a mate who lives in Manchester. We're either going to drive or get the train to Wigan. Does anyone know if its an easy trip from Manchester to Wigan on the train?
I don't know if it'll top last year's Wigan trip. It was a lovely day weather wise, many beers were sunk surrounded by fellow Hammers and to top it all off we played well and spanked them 3-0. It was definitely my favourite overall away experience...not that my choice is particularly broad haha.
One side note, I will be taking my other half to her first game and she's a Spurs 'fan' I've told her to keep quiet about her allegances haha.

My nephew is our (or one of our) mascot(s) for this game. I don't know who is more excited out of me and him!
Re: Wigan Away
We're staying in Manchester, and I did check out the trains. They go from Manchester - Victoria and go about every half hour and take 30 or so minutes. That's the option we're going forRepka's Brain Cell wrote: We're either going to drive or get the train to Wigan. Does anyone know if its an easy trip from Manchester to Wigan on the train?

Re: Wigan Away
Originallywe were allocated 3500 tickets with an " option " to increase to 5000
Does anyone know if we have taken up the extended allocation
I noticed the only full side on Sunday was the Everton end ...But granted they had about 15 miles to travel

Re: Wigan Away
Parked 2 years ago in the car park at the ground no trouble.
Train this year - drinking in the town center again.
As for cheap travel - try 2 singles from Euston to Wigan and vice versa, or Euston to crewe - single, Crewe to wigan - return, Crewe to euston - Single. The 2 singles from Euston were £26 about 6 weeks ago when we booked ours up.
