I didn't think he did a bad job on loan either, I agree with both of you. As long as he's back-up and wages aren't ridiculous or too long a contract as that was the problem at Pompey.

All targets? What targets are them Bob? I take it promotion is one, although the aim was always automatic promotion from what I can gather. Can't think of any other targets set which he has since hit?

i would love to see us play tikka-takka like spain but am pragmatic enough to know that we need to stay in the prem for a good few years

What you don't exaplain is why someone who works for a footabll club in the west country has an unparalleled insight in to the attitude of the Daves to Sam Allardyce, or even to Paolo

Vaz Te's salary didn't double with promotion. He is still on £13k p/w and he asked the board for a raise which was turned down. I know this for a fact plus when stories appeared over the internet Gold retweeted a guy who said: "Are you crazy, why don't you give Vaz Te what he wants, he brought us up". Same scenario as it was a few months back with Greeno. I also exchanged a few words with Mark after Vienna game and he said he definitely wants to stay at West Ham and he doesn't see himself in any other shirt and that he'll have a meeting with G&S once they come home from Austria preseason tour. A week later some stories appeared on internet (and then on Twitter) that G&S are stalling negotiations over his contract. So I think it must be true to some extent.

If you would have looked at the post in which i was replying to, you would have seen the other target clearly Mr Moth.. denzel wrote: He probably will want to stay but it might not even be his decision, I think the owners brought in Sam to do a specific job which was first to get us promoted, then to keep us up. If he keeps us up this season I can see the owners deciding to find a manager who's more well known for playing "more attractive" football
Comprende ?? It's all about context remember.

Sorry but "I know this for a fact" isn't a source. Gold re-tweeted "give him what he wants" - That could mean absolutely anything. We don't want to give players what they want anyway, we want to be giving them what they earn. The Mark Noble issue is completely clouded as well. Who knows what he is asking for, and whether they have stalled at all? I imagine that incoming transfers are more of a priority than negotiating player contracts that haven't yet expired.

well the chairman of swindon is a huge hammers supporter and apparently hired dicanio because of that he is in regualr contact with the daves and that show he knows about it

Sorry to keep picking on you, but "you know it for a fact"......... All the stories you are throwing your toys out the pram over have all come from various newspapers, with no direct quotes. You know nothing for a fact, just like the rest of us. So why not wait until September 1st to pass judgement on our transfer activity? EDIT: Oh and Mark Noble will not be leaving on a free at the end of the season. I will put my future mortgage on it.

I would imagine he was trying to highlight how thick some of our fans are. Yes he scored the goal that got us promoted. Yes if we didn't sign him we might not have made it through the Play-off's. But at the end of the day, he hasn't proved himself in the PL yet. He might be a complete flop. So for fans to suggest that we should bend over and pay him what he wants is ****ing stupid in the eyes of a football chairman and mine. They are business men. They won't want to loose 2 sell-able assets in Nobe's and RvT for free, but they will want to pay them as little as possible. They know what they're doing. It's all part of the negotiating process.

And they tell him what they think of their own club's manager - so that Swindon's chairman can gossip about it to everyone at Swindon, and someone there can tell you about it..? You'll have to forgive me for thinking that is a bit far fetched.

apparently when the stories of dicanio to west ham as manager were being mooted the chairmen had a chat and thats when it all went down. so PDC is 'resigned' to not getting the west ham job while G&S are there only saying what i was told, he told me about lee clark to birmingham and houghton to norwich weeks before it was even mentioned in the press

When Di Canio expressed an interest in this job, Sullivan openly stated in the press that Di Canio would have been a viable option if he had managerial experience in England. He didn't at the time. He does now. That's the way I see it. He's clearly loved by the club, and the relationship between him and G&S cannot be that bad, given the opening of the Di Canio lounge and G&S openly praising Di Canio for his work at Swindon.

If PDC brings Swindon to Championship, I'm pretty sure G&S will want to rethink that. Even more if we go down.

that doesn't mean sulli was telling the truth. wizzo_66 wrote:That's the way I see it. He's clearly loved by the club, and the relationship between him and G&S cannot be that bad, given the opening of the Di Canio lounge and G&S openly praising Di Canio for his work at Swindon.
as you said, he's loved by the club, and G&S have to keep us happy and keep good pr. not saying they hate him, but those reasons do not seem enough to say they don't.
