Don't like the way he's being treated though
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollSack him 100%
He is shocking.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollAs I've always said back him, let's look at the options:
Bilic: Seems to be the manager that everyone wants, however, unproven as a premiership manager, people say that he qualified Croatia for the European championships but he was expected to do that anyway. Plus, would he put up with the boards handling of transfers? Probably not. Sam Allardyce: Been out of work for a while, so must be looking for work. His football is worse than what people say Curbishley's is like, long ball all day long would have even the most excitable of people falling asleep. Harry Redknapp: I would have him back, others wouldn't, likes to gamble on transfers, not something I think our current board would be pleased with. I do however, start to dribble at the prospect of him and Dicanio as a team on the touchline, even for the entertainment! Chris Coleman: Just out of work, wanted to move back to England. Didn't have the best of times with Fulham. Would be better off sticking with Curbs, in my opinon. Graeme Souness: If we went for him I wouldn't be jumping for joy, I would consider jumping off a bridge though. Sven-Goran Eriksson: Did well in his short time at City, would want a rather large pay-check though, and be prepared for stories of how many affairs he has...
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollI don't really feel he is the man to take us further but he deserves a chance for all he has done for us.
& He does not deserve to be treated the way he has been by the board. If there is anyone at West Ham that know what the fans what it is him, he is the only man i trust at the club! & He's West Ham through and through Im behind him 100%
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollGone for me too. If the current board are going to take this club forward with a different manager then why wait, get on with it. Sad to see Curbs treated so badly but I've seen enough negative football for long enough.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollRight i have thought about this and say sack him. Although you will get 100% support from me while your at the club. Bilic is the future.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollBack 100% Think there should have been a third option - "watch him walk" cos thats the most likely unfortunately
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollHow can we complain about the board raping us for all we're worth then consider getting rid of one of the only people in the club with all of our best interests at heart.
If anyone else came to the club it would be down to careerism, and they'd be a lot less committed than our man. Certainly back him.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll
Get your point, but it's certainly bad for west ham if the board don't want him. I think curbs will realise this as well and go with his head held high. Last edited by saludo de carlitos on Tue Sep 02, 2008 11:38 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollback him, he's west ham
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollif ever in our history there was a time to back a manager its now!for all those booing and chanting for his head then perhaps these last few events show you what the guys up against!!forget bilic, too risky in our position stick with someone who has done exactly what he said he would do!we need stability!!!
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollHe has my support
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollSack him.
Heart wont be in the job now if the stories in the press are to be believed. We cant have that filtering through to the team. Get rid. Even though he appears to have been treated poorly.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the pollBack him, Sack Duxbury. Sack the board. I remain wholly unconvinced by their actions (or lack of them).
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll
Coleman is the manager off coventry city mate
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll100% Back Him
Patience is the key. People that know football, know that stability is what breeds success the majority of the time. Johnny Lyall took control of West Ham in 1974 and it was in 1986 we finished 3rd in the league. I know football is a different game these days but there is a lesson there. We have still yet to see a first choice Curbs side play week in/week out for a sustained period of time. Some will point out he has acquired players with a history of injuries. But these players did pass medicals prior to signing. And it can hardly be Curb's fault that Dyer broke his leg or that Bellamy would be out for so long. Despite this we still finished 10th !!! And also, as youngster attending UP, I witnessed Curbs score one of my most memorable goals in a game against Cambridge Utd in the old Second Division. West Ham scored 5 that day. There was probably 30000 plus there and the North and South Banks were rocking. Those were the days that made me fall in love with this club. I bet Curbs wishes we had that kind of support at UP nowadays.
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll
All this sack the board stuff makes me laugh, we can't sack them, they own the entire place 100%!! It's a bit hard to sack yourself
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll
Even more of a reason not to employ him then!
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll
agree with your sentiments though I voted back him, if that was to happen I'd imagine like alot of others I'd be happy enough
Re: Alan Curbishley: the poll
On the contrary dear Laffers, you can sack the whole bloody lot bar Gudmundsson (because he owns the club)!
