Beggers can't be...and all that. We know too little about the plans of potential new owners to make a well informed choice, but then again asymmetrical information is commonplace in a market.

Whatever happened to Tony Cottee and his takeover group?

He seemed up for it before losing out to the Icelandics...

I voted AN Other.

Intermarket are unknown and have so far not shown us anything other than a bit of PR

G&S will not make the investment we need in players and will try and get the club on the cheap and grow it organically i.e. sell to buy and hope

Fernandez - as much as he would have the club at heart, his time and money will be spent in F1 this coming year

AN Other - We will not get a Sheik or Ogliarch but hopefully there is a consortium that has enough financial clout to deliver what we need. In the end that may be Intermarket but I somehow think not, and suspect Mr Fernandez will be part of one that does succeed in taking us over

I've seen this put a few times. Seems an odd thing to say.

IF Fernandes was to buy the club, then it would be that he'd do so with full commitment.
He wouldn't buy the club for a shitload of money and not take good care of his investment by being busy elsewhere.

So it's basically you want him - knowing that if he did buy the club, he would certainly be showing his commitment to it.
Or you don't want him, because you think he is just generally not the right man for the job.

Way I see it anyway.

He can't dedicate his time to sorting he club out when he's running Air Asia and Team lotus can he as he himself has already said and becaus eof this it won't happen.

However he can invest as part of a consortium if, and it's a big if, he trusts the consortium to make the right decisions,

TBH it has become so stupid with this Icelanders I would just like someone else.

Someone who will offer a bit of investment and to run us well.

Keep us out of the papers.

He won't invest into a consortium either.

My view of Fernandes is that he is a dedicated West Ham man that wants to help, he can't produce the money for new players but could offer expertise in business. That's why he wanted a 51% share but couldn't agree a deal, the fella doesn't simply have the cash to make an immediate difference.

I want to know more about the Aussie businessman that is interested. *

* Not my scoop this one but it did come from someone reliable.

But that's my point. If it does happen, then it obviously means he feels he clearly can be focused on us.

Which means that there is no scenario where he'd buy the club AND not be focused on running it well.
So it's either - you want him, or you don't.

And my point was he's not going to buy the club on his own because he can't be focused.

However I would be happy to have his money as part of a consortium
