Ive put 19th im afraid. Going down for me, we have had the same problems for a couple of seasons now and they still haven't been addressed. No goalscorer in our team, usually u can sneak a 1-0 but as our defence is so pony we will always conceed. I cant see any teams worse than us let alone three. sorry.

Quick scout around the bookie sites has us at around about 7/4 for the drop right now, which broadly makes us the fourth favourites to go behind Wigan and WBA (both roughly evens) and of course Blackpool (round about 2/7).

So here's hoping for salvation by virtue of there being three shittier sides in the Prem. Again.

A valid question...now we know the squad, and one which I will address!

We have kept all the best of last season, and in addition have:

Some pacey wingers..

Piq, who is as good as Diego di jimifranco......

An improved Llunga....

An improved Noble...

A fit again Gabbidon at right back?

Cover for the centre backs...

I think we should improve overall by about 15%... now, I dont unfortunately know how much our opponents will improve..probably by the same sort of margin!

I guess we will reach about 41 points which will equal a position of 17th.

all clearly unwanted by the club during this window and dangled to other clubs, will really want to play here and be enthused about playing for us after the summer shennanigans, i'd suggest they are all pretty unsettled and pissed off, as one was our best player another our top scorer, are we really in a better position

I included Parker and Cole in that "best of"...Parker will only play one way, and shrug off the fact that he didnt get a hoped for move..similarly Cole and Upson will be trying to get into the England squad

Behrami and Kovak are peripheral for me.

lets hope they do

although this day and age of footballers, i'd not be surprised to see a negative impact on their performances

Taking a step back, how many teams in the Prem have worse squads than us now?

Blackpool / Wigan / Brom / you could argue the toss with Newcastle.

Perhaps Bolton.

I'd say that's it.

Brum are much stronger than us.
Stoke are probably now as strong if not stronger.
Sunderland much stronger.
Fulham stronger.

how many had worse squads than us when we went down, or last season, don't think the quality of squad means much, its how its used and how much the players picked can be bothered, look at bolton, or blackburn or stoke, their players would pretty much battle till they dropped for the cause

ours wouldnt

I concur. To escape relegation we are going to need to start picking up points with gritty performances. Parker, Noble aside, I can't see this happening myself. I think we will reach the end of October with only 1 or 2 points and may well be bottom at Christmas.

16th for me, slight improvement on last year and importantly - staying up. Could possibly finish higher maybe 14th / 13th if players like Dyer/Hitz can stay fit and Pick-owe-me / Obinna start bangin them in....

I'm in 15th/16th camp. I think that it's going to take a month or two for the team to settle and the early fixtures haven't been very kind.
There's probably three teams worse than us and there will be the usual six or seven points between the team in 9th and the team in 16th by the end of the season.

Same **** .... different season. This is West Ham.

18th or 19th I fear, only Blackpool will be below us would be my guess. Still, there is some chance that Grant is the messiah and not just a naughty boy so we could scrape through :)

Little point in taking notice of league positions until the end of septemeber, however with our start of the season schedule the it aint gonna make easy reading at that point either.

This season is going to be difficult. Seem to be in the minority but havent been impressed with our signings, never rated our new manager, dont share any of the optimisuism displayed by the clubs hierachy and generally feel very disillusioned with our current status.

Can handle finishing 4th from bottom if we did it with young english players whilst displaying some b*llocks. A mid table finish would be fantastic but unrealistic in my view.

Everything about us feels wrong at the moment ... not just one thing but many individual factors.

We have had sufficent time to address last seasons misgivings and have somehow managed to strengthen in all the wrong places.

Hope I'm proved wrong .....
