a pretty gaussian shape peaked between 10th and 11th is taking form!

I honestly think were going to have a great season this year. I'm impressed with the signings that have been made, plus the fact that we've so far thrown out bids for our top players. Grant looks good, the owners look to be doing everything they can to improve the club.
I've opted for 8th

I'm going for a very solid 10th, will threaten to go higher or lower during periods of the season but will end up 10th.
Re: Where will we finish this season? [POLL]
With Reid confirmed i'd like to change my prediction to 15th !
Re: Where will we finish this season? [POLL]
8th.
I think we're gonna have a cracking start (even with the tough early fixtures) then fall away late in the season when injuries, suspensions, lack of depth take their toll, ala Villa in recent seasons.
Of course, if we make 2 or 3 astute signings in January, we will most likely push on and squeeze into fourth.
Either that, or we will be fairly **** in amongst 14 or 15 fairly **** teams, but put together a run of 3 draws to snatch 8th at the end of a fairly **** campaign.

An optimistic 9th for me. The voting is an almost perfect bell curve as well, which is nice; it's not completely haphazard, most of us seem to have a similar opinion (apart from the mentalist who said that we're going to win the league ). I think that the new broom will have an effect, and that the new signings can help us to consolidate/push on over the next year. To be honest, after last season, I'll settle for 9 months with no excessive drama. A cup run would be nice, too.

Re: Where will we finish this season? [POLL]
I must confess that i sat, stared, looked analysed and deliberated over where we would finish and i came up with 8th based on what we have at our disposal given our pre season form. However i dont feel we are a pinned on 8th, we still need to be playing well to achieve that spot.
I also feel that with minimal damage caused by injuries, Ben-Haim regaining his former Bolton form, Rob Green showing everyone exactly why he should be England No.1, keeping hold of Parker and Cole and perhaps getting a free scoring striker who embarasses keepers for fun, we could be looking at 6th or even 5th.

Re: Where will we finish this season? [POLL]
16th - the sale of Cole, Parker and Upson on deadline day, combined with the morale-crushing blow of Hitzelsperger's serious injury in the opener against Villa sees us slump to just a solitary point from a very tough opening six games. This leaves us firmly entrenched in the relegation zone, a position we struggle to pull clear of all season until a Zavon Hines-inspired 9 points from our final 3 games against Blackburn, Wigan and Sunderland rescues us at the death. #
Until the following season, at least, when we go down.

Re: Where will we finish this season? [POLL]
The more I look at our squad, the more I think that we will have one of the best away records in the league this year after last year's shameful effort.
A front 6 drawing from Cole, Nouble, Hines, Barrera, Dyer, Sulejmani, Faubert, LBM, Sears is going to have so much pace that it will be easy for Noble, Hitz and Diamanti to hit passes for them to run onto - and we will mullah any team that gives us space to run into.....
Expect us to get more points away than at home.
Can't believe how optimistic I feel.

Re: Where will we finish this season? [POLL]
a cautious 12th, could be top 10 but a life sentence of following WHU makes me naturally pessimistic -then anything better is a Brucie bonus!
seriously though whether its a reaction to last seasons dross or not, I have to say I cannot remember feeling this excited about a new season for many a long year, roll on Villa............jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way................................

12th - an occasionally poetic season of mellow fruitlessness.

11th.
Think it could be a tough start to the season but we'll pull away from the bottom bunch and finish safe from relegation.

I plumped with 11th too, but have a strange feeling that we could do significantly better than that. It's strange, this positivity lark.
