Nike to sign Vfl Wolfsburg germany
American brand Nike are set to be the official kit supplier of Bundesliga club Vfl Wolfsburg
Due to a buy-out clause within the contract with Vfl Wolfsburg and current kit supplier Kappa, the premature termination of the contract is reportedly coming to fruition with mega brand Nike wishing to stamp their trademark Swoosh on the German club in a supposedly record breaking deal, according to sports magazine Kicker. Previously a member of Nike’s list of supplied clubs, Vfl Wolfsburg showcased a Swoosh branded shirt between 2004 and 2009 (as seen in the club’s 2008 look pictured above) before switching to adidas’ three-stripes and currently Kappa. German clubs Hertha, Franfurt, Augsburg and Werder Bremen all currently adorn strips manufactured by Nike however with Vfl Wolfsburg performing at top levels with a highly talented squad are in a position to headline the Swoosh within the Bundesliga.
Manchester United 2015-16 adidas Home Shirt Review
With adidas overtaking Nike as the current Manchester United kit suppliers, we review the fan’s edition of the home shirt for the Red Devils for the 2015-16 season.
With adidas Football signing the biggest kit deal in football history in July 2014, Chevrolet again sponsors the shirt after they signed a seven-year deal back in July 2012. This is the second time adidas have supplied kits for Manchester United as they previously had a 12 year spell with the club from 1980 to 1992. Umbro and Nike supplied kits for the English giants from 1992 to 2015.
The new home shirt for the Red Devils is classic in design and is reminiscent of the retro adidas kits back in the 1980s as it features a traditional red base while adidas’ three-stripes on the shoulders are white. Based on the Tiro 15 Jersey template seen on several other 2015-16 adidas teams, a classic white v-neck collar is used with touches of red and black piping and the sleeve cuffs uses a solid white design. The hem of the shirt uses a graphic design taken from the 1990 shirt famously worn by Ryan Giggs in his debut season. Woven club crest and adidas logo are used while the Chevrolet sponsor, names and numbers are printed on.
The likes of Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan and Valencia have used versions of the Tiro 15 Jersey template. A special print on the hem of the shirt is inspired by the classic retro adidas kits. Not veering away from tradition the new home kit will completed with either white shorts with red trim or black shorts with red trim while the same deal is with the socks, either white or black (depending on the oppositions’ team colours). adidas three-stripes run down the flanks of the shorts and on the tip of the socks while a Red Devils emblem is featured on the shin of each sock. Built from CLIMACOOL fabric which is 100% polyester, the shirt provides heat and moisture management through ventilation for a comfortable feel throughout the game. With PUMA Football signing a deal in January 2014, this is the German brand’s second season with Arsenal. The new home kit for Arsenal features the iconic red base with white sleeves design. Touches of gold taken from the Arsenal crest are seen as piping on the buttoned polo collar and sleeve cuffs. This time routhe hem of the shirt while the names and numbers are coloured white. On top of the white shoulders on each side are two thin red lines which extend from the collar to the sleeve cuffs for a classic touch. nd the entire sleeves and shoulders are white with last season’s home shirt using red shoulders. A large white panel is located at For another classic touch a one-buttoned polo collar is used. The Arsenal crest has been heat transferred on to the shirt rather than embroidered while the Puma logos on the front and shoulders have been embroidered. Fly Emirates again sponsors the home shirt while a unique “A” triangular emblem is seen below the neckline on the back of the shirt. Again the home kit is completed with white shorts with red trim while white socks are used for this upcoming season.Much like Nike’s Dry Fit and adidas’ climacool, the replica PUMA shirt uses dryCell technology to wick sweat away from the shirt. Santos FC and Kappa agree a deal for the Italian brand to take-over from Nike as the club’s official kit suppliers.
Although official contracts and details are still to be finalised and confirmed, Santos FC club president Modesto Roma Junior has reportedly agreed a deal with Kappa to kit out the team on October 14.
Taking the reigns from its predecessor Nike, of whom acted as suppliers from 2012, Kappa plan to spark immediate profits from shirts through a design which incorporates the legendary Santos FC figure of arguably the world’s greatest ever player – Pele.
In a pioneering approach, Santos FC have decided to act responsible for the production and distribution of the shirts which holds the benefit of obtaining the full profits of each product sold however no annual fixed sum figure will be granted by Kappa to the Brasileirão club.
The brand new Liverpool home shirt is supplied by New Balance who took over from Warrior Sports from the 2015-16 season onwards. Inspired by the club’s successful past, the new home shirt for Liverpool uses a unique chequered/lined theme on the front panel while touches of sun gold are present on the collar and sleeve cuffs. The chequered design is absent on the sleeve and back panels of the shirt. The chequered design is inspired by the white mosaic formed when the fans in the Kop hoist their Liverpool flags and scarves in matchday. In addition, the club’s name “Liverpool F.C.” is printed throughout the front panel of the shirt. Both the New Balance logo and Liverbird crest have been applied using a Prist Weld technique and feature a slightly raised and textured feel while the Standard Chartered sponsor is simply stuck on. A re-designed crew-neck collar is featured on the shirt with white and gold piping and a classy chequered pattern at the base and back of the collar. That same chequered pattern material is used under the arms of the shirt as well. “96” emblem is stitched on to the upper back of the shirt just under the collar to commemorate the 96 who lost their lives during the tragic Hillsborough disaster back in 1989. Following tradition, the new home kit for Liverpool is completed with red shorts and socks with gold and white trim. The New Balance and Standard Chartered logos and Liverbird crest are coloured white to complete the look. Comparing this shirt to the previous 2014-15 by Warrior Sports, it features several similarities including the rounded crew-neck collar and white trim applications.
