No doubt great prformance from Cole today, but be realistic, these are going to get fewer and further between. He's never been the player he used to be, and consistently , since the injury in the 5-3 win over West Brom a few seasons ago. We'll get the odd flash of Carlton of old like today but if we go up he's only going to be making up the numbers.

Yeah was superb today the old boy, glad he got a rest in too of course.

The Defenders n this league do not like playing against him when he's in the mood our Carlton..

Second goal was a lovely taken ball and finish too.

Stop getting swayed by individual performances. Fact is that opposing defenders hate playing against Carlton. His hold up play is miles better than any player we could ever hope to sign as a replacement and, above all, he bloody loves playing for us. Anyone who wants him gone will quickly realise what they're missing.

We don't do too well without him. Man just holds the ball up so well allowing 2 or 3 defenders to be drawn away for the likes of Vaz te, Nolan,to get into scoring position.Him ,Tomkins ,Noble and Reid would be my core of any team.

The reason we look better with him is that the system while it doesn't get anyone usually up close to him (except lately) means he is involved a lot. With Maynard or Baldock we still play the same way but with two midgets they are not as effective. I would like to have seen us knock it around on the deck when Cole went off but I don't know for the life of me why we didn't.

And let's face it Carew and Piq were are are both ***** of the highest order.

One could make the same point about each substitution, lost the plot after Cole and Vaz were off going fwds, and when our captain went off today... lost the plot in defence too...

On his day he is unplayable. There aren't many of those outside of the top five in the EPL.

If he wants to stay with us, it's a no brainer. If he wanted out, I wouldn't blame him as some of the stick he takes is well wide of the mark. The 2 goals today were superb from a striker we paid £2m for. Him and Vaz will do a great job next season whatever level we play.

His form has picked up since Vaz and O'Neil have been in the front 6.

We have a very effective attacking blend at the mo with Cole-Nolan-Vaz-O'Neil-Noble......

Keep them fit for the next 3 and I reckon the only thing that can stop us is a crap referee.

(Watch Maynard try to play Cole's role and you start to appreciate Cole).

got to keep the guy, not just because of todays performance. We are better with him in the side and he loves this club, for me that's enough.

Did you deliberately leave out our 'Enri Bubbs? I think he gives us another dimension we've been lacking....

I left him out because he seems to alternate with Collison and Taylor.

The others seem to be the core to me.

He had a good game today apart from the chance he skied. As well as some lovely bits of skill he put in a proper shift.
