The Ricardo Vaz Te - Playoff Hero - Appreciation ThreadModerators: Lost Hammer, bonehead, chalks, goes2eleven, Alf Garnett's (Ex) Missus, bristolhammerfc, Wheels, sicknote, Romford, Rio, Gnome, Northern Paulo Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadThink he's become very important for a number of reasons very quickly - pace, takes players on etc, also quite surprised how good he is in the air. There is an expectation around the stadium when he gets the ball similar to berkovic or etherington getting on the ball (think someone also said Sinclair and see where they're coming from). Only time will tell if he's that good consistently and as we've been starved of that kind of skill we need to be careful not to overbuild him up only to criticise if be goes through a bad patch.
Sometimes players also just look good together for no obvious reason - they just think the same. Thought Maynard linked up very well with him yesterday - seemed to know each others game despite few minutes together. Ricky and Nicky show.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation Thread
He's a reason to be very optimistic about next year if we fall short this year.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadBeen brilliant this season, as long as he stays fit, I'd be more than happy to see him in the team for the rest of the season.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadI've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing To think I did all that And may I say, not in a shy way Oh no, oh no, not me - we've got Vaz Te
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadI'll put my hands up & admit that after seeing Vaz Te at the Cardiff game, I was worried he had a bit of an 'attitude problem.' That day he seemed to get stroppy with his team mates, give up on 'lost balls' a bit too easily for my liking BUT he has certainly proved me wrong, his work rate is very good, he adds another dimension & despite doing too many step-overs at one point
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadWasn't sure about when we signed Vaz Te. Remembered him briefly at Bolton and he didn't seem a good player at all, fair enough he didn't get many chances there but still. Since we signed him though he's been brilliant. Bit of skill, pace and taking on the opposition players. Think he may need to release the ball a bit quicker at times but he's turned out to be a great signing.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadLooked like he had a bit of game when at Bolton but never materialised in to anything.
He's so leisurely on the ball though, it really winds me up.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadBetter signing than maynard considering the price of him
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation Thread
both were piss cheap ,, maynard will take us up...believe me ,, its written in my tea leaves

Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation Thread
Haha good to here, keep drinking the tea mate!
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadHe's a nice antidote to some of the dour stuff we've had this season. Gary O'Neill works hard but he isn't about to try and do 15 stepovers in front of goal, miss, fall on his arse then get up and cross himself. Matt Taylor has a good cross on him but he doesn't have hair like a bog brush. Basically, I think he adds a bit of colour to the team. Nowhere near as good as he thinks he is - he's pretty much the Budgens Taraabt - but certainly good enough for us, and if he can sneak another 3 or 4 goals before May, probably the bargain of the season.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation Thread
How dare the board sanction the acquisition of players without bog brush barnets. If I was in charge I'd be signing Cameo. Word Up. And as for Karen Brady, she's strange
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadHe is exciting to watch.
I like this.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadAlso has the best minutes per goal ratio in the entire division

Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadHe just can't stop scoring.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation Thread
No he can't. But the third Birmingham goal is on his account though, as he left his man on the 18 yard box unmarked after the corner came in....
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadThe bottle he showed when we won the penalty. straight away he ran over and picked the ball up and knew he was going to score. Nerves of steel.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation ThreadHammer of the Year contender?
He'll have three and a half months under his belt.
Re: The Ricardo Vaz Te Appreciation Thread
