Was originally quite happy with the Holt rumour, but 31 years old? Not for me currently, I dont think we lack experience in our side so i would be inclined to add some young, & talented prospects ala Zaha for instance.

It`s better buying Holt than morons like Crouch,Kenwayne Jones,kevin davies and so on.

Just seen a bit of TV footage of Russia's very impressive demolition job on Italy in a pre tournament friendly match. Russia, have a bloke, a midfielder called Alan Dzagoev. ****ing 'ell, this geezer looks the complete b*llocks. I confess, I have never, ever heard of him, but he looks fabulous. A kind of Messi, a sort of Eden Hazard type player, but at a fraction of the cost. He plays for CSKA Moscow and has scored 4 goals for Russia in 8 qualifying matches. Not bad for an attacking midfielder. Go get him now Sam, before his value go's up by around £10m in a few weeks. Oh **** it, don't take my word for it, he will be on your own TV screens next saturday

I just hope we start bringing in new players quickly, I wonder whether we are going to announce three signings at once, I'd rather we brought in the majority of new arrivals early so they can have a full preseason with us. Hugely important in my view with regard to team building, bonding and getting used to each other on the pitch...

Where is this 1 season wonder thing with Holt coming from? Scored 23 and got 14 assists in the Championship season before last, 30 in league 1 before that, 28 before that and this season he got 15 and 3 assists. 31 or not he's worth a punt
