Does anyone know the Origins of why we Sing " Twist & Shout " ? I have heard this song for Many years going back to the Eighties , Remeber a Rousing Version at Anfield at Half Time in 1989 when we went Down , Did someone just start Shouting it and it Cottoned on and became a Mainstay or is there another Reason ?
While were on Songs , Whats your Best & Worst Songs ? I hate Running round Tottenham , also West Ham Till i Die , this is a Northern Song and i could be wrong but dont Recall us singing it until the Green St Film .
I like the Carlton/Joey Cole Song

I do not know the origin, but my favourite memory of the song is Newcastle away. Can't remember the year but it is when Ian Wright scored a brace.
Anyway we had been singing it all match and in the pubs afterwards. We finally got to Newcastle station, and for some reason there were a couple of West Ham players waiting for the train, Moncs was whistling the tune so we all sung. As the long journey went on, we saw that the Rugby team Wasps were also on the train. We got them all singing including World Cup winning Captain Francois Pinnert (sp?). Great day

But it is factually incorrect. Bratislava is at least 1000 miles from Moscow and we all know his name

Is that a stop on the Sri Lankan rail network? Haven't a favourite Hammers song, fond memories of all the old ones with the exception of 'West Ham the sailor men'
