Hants Disabled Cricket - Update For Those Who Voted..

Postby Gnome on Sun May 27, 2012 10:52 pm

(Not really GD Forum stuff bit rank has its privileges)

Loads of you voted for Hants Disabled Cricket in the National Lottery Awards last year. They were down at Taunton today where they were on the wrong end of a comprehensive 9 wicket thumping by Somerset.

The match was filmed by a couple of cameras from Sky for their "Club Life" series - this is something that goes out in the Saturday lunch interval of each test match. Somerset were the actual club featured but they did film some of the Hants lads as well so look out for it during the 3rd Test (7-11 June)

Thanks on behalf of Geoff and the boys again

No - unfortunately 1st ball LBW today. A couple of very good stops in the field though.

I usually watch the cricket all the time so shouldn't miss it, but nearer the time can you start a thread and give us a reminder that it is on.

Cheers

I've just been advised that this should now go out on Sky during the lunch interval tomorrow (Friday 21st).

Now usually these inserts go out on a Saturday but since the info came from the Somerset guys (who are the featured side this week) we'll take their word for it.

The boys have had a lousy time with the weather this year. They were thumped by Somerset (as mentioned above) before going on to thrash Dorset (who they bowled out for 5!). The other three matches have fallen foul of the conditions - even when the match day has been relatively dry the presence of wheelchairs has meant no play has been possible.

They've one game left away at Hertfordshire next weekend which means it's most unlikely that they'll repeat last year's feat of making the national semi-finals but them's the breaks!

I watched it. They focused on the Somerset team mostly as it was about them but it was really good to watch. Some really determined players there.
