Southend United Away 14th July

Postby Harty on Wed Jul 04, 2012 11:03 pm

Anyone travelling to the sea side to watch the Hammers?
I've been told the best pub for us to have a beer in is The Last Post Wetherspoon Pub, any ideas if this is correct?

I always liked the Railway Tavern... 20% of the time it's a blood bath but the rest of the time it was just a damn good boozer. I wish more than anything I could be back in the old (temporary) home town to watch the Hammers play. Buying a lotto ticket this arvo, not giving up yet.

previously posted mistakenly in the transfer thread.

re; borehamwood

An etiquette question.

I bought tickets for the borehamwood friendly on release day directly from borehamwood box office.
Several weeks later 'away' tickets became available from whufc box office.
Borehamwood only has one seated stand with 500 seats and WHU have been allocated 250 of those.....plus standing room.

Is it Ok for my family to wear west ham kit even though we bought home tickets? It's a friendly and I wouldnt want to commit an unfriendly act unnecessarily.

I realise this post could easily be placed in the idiot amnesty thread, but I'd be grateful of some views from the more experienced travellers.

I can't see Borehamwood having much of a firm mate.

You'll be fine.

Friday 20 July is getting closer for Grays Athletic who will celebrate the re-opening of the old Ford Sports Ground in Rush Green Road with a match against a West Ham X1 with a 7.45 pm kick off.

Details of the West Ham squad will be announced nearer the day.

Admission is £10 for adults and £5 for seniors and children.

The West Ham groundstaff and many volunteers from Grays have been working hard to get everything ready, with the pitch already looking excellent.

A very good programme is being produced for the evening, priced at £2. There will be lots of interesting articles for both sets of supporters, including a piece entitled "The Hero - Bobby Moore". It covers the life and career of the great man and is based on a TV documentary broadcast in 2002.
