Sam Yak raid

SAM ALLARDYCE is plotting a raid for Blackburn top-scorer Yakubu.

The Nigerian striker, 29, has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave for just £1million.

West Ham boss Allardyce would relish getting one over on his Ewood Park successor Steve Kean by nicking his 17-goal hitman on the cheap.

Big Sam has also agreed a deal for Bolton’s Finnish goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen, 37, to join his Premier League new boys on a free.

STOKE are ready to rival West Ham for winger Matt Jarvis

But they will refuse to meet Wolves’ £10million price tag.

Potters boss Tony Pulis wants another wideman to join Matt Etherington and has targeted Jarvis.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has already had a £4m bid rejected for the once-capped England star.

Wolves are under no pressure to sell Jarvis, 26, who still has three years left on his Molineux contract.

And they have made it clear he will only be sold on their terms.

Jaaskelainen says Juss to Hammers

The veteran keeper will move to the Boleyn Ground on a free transfer after his contract with Bolton expires on June 30.

Jaaskelainen, 37, has signed a one-year contract with an option of a second year.

He will team up with his former boss Sam Allardyce at the Hammers.

The former Finland international said: "I'm delighted to be joining West Ham United.

"After spending 15 years in Bolton it's a great new challenge and I'm really looking forward to it.

“Everything has happened really quickly. When the opportunity was offered to come to West Ham I didn't think twice and I just told my agent to sort it out as quickly as possible.

"I appreciate Bolton giving me permission to speak to West Ham before my contract was up and for the efforts the chairman made in trying to get me to stay.

“I would like to thank the fans for all their support over the years and I wish the players and, in particular, Owen Coyle all the best in gaining promotion at the first attempt."

West Ham have swooped for Jaaskelainen after current No1 Robert Green expressed his desire to leave the newly-promoted side.

Kras war: Liverpool set to beat West Ham to £6m Juve winger

Premier League-bound Hammers want the Serbia international on loan but the Italian champions would rather sell him to the Kop
Turin break: Krasic is set to leave Italy and play in the Premier League Turin break: Krasic is set to leave Italy and play in the Premier League

Liverpool are in talks with Juventus over the signing of Serb forward Milos Krasic.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has been in Italy this week, in a bid to secure a loan deal for the 27-year-old wideman.

But he has been told the Serie A champions want to sell Krasic – and Liverpool are interested in a player who could be available for only £6million.

Juve want to raise cash to help pay for a top-class striker, with Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez top of their shopping list.

Krasic, who was a target for Tottenham in January, has dropped out of coach Antonio Conte’s plans and played only seven Serie A games last season.

Allardyce is also interested in signing Eljero Elia on loan from Juve, but faces competition for the Dutch winger from Schalke, Salzburg, Benfica and Feyenoord.

The eager Hammers manager also met Inter Milan to discuss borrowing another Dutch attacker, Luc Castaignos.

Allardyce plans Yakubu raid as West Ham boss continues to build for Premier League return

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce is ready to raid former club Blackburn for striker Yakubu and will hold talks with Mohamed Diame on Friday.

Yakubu has a £1million buy-out clause in his contract and wants to stay in the Premier League despite interest from China and the Middle East.

Former Wigan midfielder Diame, 24, is due to fly in for talks on Friday ahead of a weekend medical but is also expecting to talk to three other Premier League clubs.

Allardyce met Juventus officials in Italy on Tuesday to discuss potential loans for Milos Krasic and Eljero Elia after being priced out of moves for Wolves duo Matt Jarvis and Michael Kightly.

Jaaskelainen excited by West Ham switch after sealing deal to leave Bolton

Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen has agreed a move to West Ham, and revealed he could not wait to join the Premier League newcomers.

The 37-year-old has agreed personal terms on a one-year deal with the Hammers with an option for a second year, and will move to Upton Park when his Wanderers contract expires at the end of the month.

The former Finland international told West Ham's official website: 'I'm delighted to be joining West Ham United. After spending 15 years in Bolton it's a great new challenge and I'm really looking forward to it.

'Everything has happened really quickly. When the opportunity was offered to come to West Ham I didn't think twice and I just told my agent to sort it out as quickly as possible.

'I appreciate Bolton giving me permission to speak to West Ham before my contract was up and for the efforts the chairman made in trying to get me to stay.

'I would like to thank the fans for all their support over the years and I wish the players and, in particular, (manager) Owen Coyle all the best in gaining promotion at the first attempt.'

Jaaskelainen, who joined Bolton in 1997 from Finnish club Vaasan Palloseura, played for eight years under current Hammers boss Sam Allardyce at Wanderers.

The emergence of young Hungarian keeper Adam Bogdan limited his opportunities last season though, as Bolton were relegated to the Championship.

Jaaskelainen is set to kick off West Ham's summer spending spree as Allardyce eyes shock moves for Juventus duo Milos Krasic and Eljero Elia.

The Hammers boss was filmed meeting Juve director Fabio Paratici and reports in Italy claim the Upton Park boss is keen on the wingers.

Krasic and Elia have both been told they can leave Turin this summer as the Serie A champions try to raise cash to sign a world-class striker.

But there is competition for both players. Zenit St Petersburg have opened talks to sign the pair, though Elia is thought to be keen on a rival bid from Schalke.

English clubs have monitored them, with Liverpool recently being offered either as a makeweight in a bid to sign Luis Suarez, while Krasic turned down a move to Tottenham in January.

Krasic, 27, had an impressive start to his Juve career after moving from CSKA Moscow two years ago, but he fell out of favour with boss Antonio Conte last season and featured in just seven Serie A games.

Elia, 25, only arrived from Hamburg last summer, but fared even worse - playing just four league games and losing his place in the Holland squad ahead of Euro 2012.

Would We Have Harry Back?

So it's confirmed, Harry Redknapp has left Spurs. Completely perplexing. He has taken them from the depths to be a side which has qualified for the Champions League two seasons in a row - well, sort of. They would have been in the Champions League this season if Chelsea hadn't gone and won it. Perhaps the Spurs board has got wise to some of Harry's little ways, or perhaps there's another reason. One thing's for sure, we haven't seen the last of Harry Redknapp. I can't see him staying under Sandra's feet for too long.

The news set me wondering. If Sam Allardyce left West Ham tomorrow, would you have him back at West Ham?

Thanks CH.

No doubt Harry is a good manager but it seems he does like to spend money, maybe not so much on fees but wages andf lucrative contracts and for that reason I wouldn't like him back at West Ham.

To be fair, Redknapp may have the team playing with flair...but at a price. And Spurs may be thinking that with an expensive stadium to build they need someone who can deliver good performance on the cheap - like Wenger has done at Arsenal whilst the emirates was built and paid for.
