"Boreham Wood FC are delighted to announce that West Ham United FC have named the squad that will visit Meadow Park on Tuesday 10th July and what an illustrious squad it is.

Sam Allardyce’s squad is full of star-studded names and is as follows; Jussi Jaaskalainen, Winston Reid, George McCartney, Kevin Nolan, James Tomkins, Sam Baldock, Nicky Maynard, Carlton Cole, Jack Collison, Ricardo Vaz Te, Stephen Henderson, Matthew Taylor, Mark Noble, Joey O’Brien, Guy Demel, Ravel Morrison, Jordan Spence, Gary O’Neil and Mohammed Diame.

This will be the first opportunity Hammers fans will get to take a look at their Irons squad on home soil following their top flight return, as well as to see the Play-Off winning trophy first hand after being victorious at Wembley in May, as it is paraded around Meadow Park for West Ham supporters.

Tickets remain on sale; please call the BWFC ticket office on 020 8953 5097 for more details. BWFC would like to remind all fans that tickets are available on the gate, but it is advised to purchase seating tickets in advance."

Looking forward to this one on Tuesday evening, my ticket arrived today, number 724 in the terraces so should be a good turnout.

We have a challenger to DL!

For this game I'd like to see the same sort of line up as the Vienna game, give everyone a bit of game time. Would like to see Henderson start inbetween the sticks again and Baldock starting at least for the first half.

Don't normally do pre-season friendlies but taking my two boys along as it's a home game for me. Hopefully they (ok me as well), may get a chance to get close to some of the players. The youngest is still coming to terms with the fact that his favourite player, Rob Green has left but will no doubt still wear his GK shirt with Green on the back.

I did chuckle when I saw the Boreham Wood badge - do you think someone thought it was Notlob and would be an opportunity for BFS to size up a few more of their players?

Christ almighty, I forgot about Dyers Leg. Quick somebody delete this before he duffs me up.

Be honest, I was bored and a bit frustrated about not finding a stream for the Vienna game, thought I'd give it a go. Just for pre season.
I think DL's match threads are safe for now!

Should hopefully be going depending on what time I get in from work. Anyone know if the game was part of the Pelly Ruddock deal?

I told someone locally that I was going to this game and he mentioned Pelly Ruddock. I would be surprised if it was 'part of the deal' but then again, if it was, we would not have to guarantee what team we would put out. Maybe they were hoping for a strong squad and that is what has transpired? They certainly seem to be hyping the fact that it is the first opportuity to view our new signings with the possibility of more to come.

I don't know if they are affiliated to L'Arse, but they do have regular friendlies with them. Arsenal's training ground is at London Colney which is not far away (used by England when they stay at The Grove in Watford) and BWFC ground is where Arsenal Ladies play.

Far worse than that unfortunately, they are now affiliated with Reading I think.

Didn't Pelly come with a big fanfare as to almost being ready to play for the first team ? And the lad from Dulwich doesn't seem to have made much inroads considering in the words of one of the Double Dave's "he was the most exciting transfer of that particular window."

rebirth

I know that mate, It's just the type of thing that the bosses/board do. I remember at the time Ruddock was supposed to be training with the first team and that Gollie I think it was bigged up the Dulwich lad. And posters wonder why kids don't turn out always what we would like of them Ravel being a good case in point.

I read that it was definitely part of the deal. We got Pelly and the BW chairman negotiated a pre-season friendly.
Great for such a small club, apart from the extra revenue there's a bit of a buzz. West Hams visit is headline news on the back sport pages of the Borehamwood Times (or it might have been the free Advertiser, can't remember).
