Re: Fave Player From Each Team
DAPPY for the very first time we totally agree!!! I have seen some **** on here but this takes the biscuit, unless Fave is 10 then i apologise!!!
Re: Fave Player From Each TeamArsenal - Liam Brady - Chippy oozed class on and off the pitch. Loved it when we signed him.
Aston Villa - Peter Withe - scored their winner in the European Cup at a time when I cheered on English teams. Hard as nails. Chelsea - Zola - spoiled his copybook here, but as a player probably the best foreign import to the PL. Everton - Duncan Ferguson - 'Duncan Disorderly' looked like he'd jumped out of the terrace onto the pitch. Fulham - Johnny Haynes - first Legend in my list, a one Club man and the best to ever grace The Cottage. Liverpool - Ian Rush - difficult, but chose him cos I remember John Peel choosing him on the radio as the best new act of 1980 Man City - Carlitos Tevez - from Feurte Apache via the East End to an unloved bench at Citeh. Could still play for any Club. Man Utd - Eric Cantona - never thought I'd say it, but what a player. Made Berbatov look hurried. Newcastle - Micky Quinn - if Carlsberg made a fat b*stard.... Norwich - Dale Gordon - can't think of many others and just for those step overs. Unplayable against us, unplayable for us. QPR - Stan Bowles - mental womaniser that actually made me envious of QPHa fans, which was quite a feat. Reading - Robin Friday - the best footballer I never saw. Southampton - Matt Le Tissier - looked ungainly and a nose like Barbara Streisand on steroids, but glided over the pitch. Stoke - Stanley Matthews - another Legend. Not only ran the game for a decade or so but then set up a black team in Soweto. Sunderland - Niall Quinn - one of the least able player on my list, but endeavour and decency on the field and in the boardroom. Swansea - John Toshack - maybe an odd choice but rose through all 4 divisions with Toshack the first successful player/manager. Tottenham - Paul Gascoigne - played his best football for Spuds. The best English player of my generation at his peak. West Brom - Laurie Cunningham - first Englishman to play for Real and first capped black player for his country. A silent revolution. West Ham - Bobby Moore - 'nuff said. Wigan - Roberto Martinez - from sunny Spain to a football outpost but forged a loyal career and the best young manager in the UK.
Re: Fave Player From Each TeamOooh, nice one Doc, I'm gonna have another go now...
Arsenal - Ian Wright, not everyone's cuppa tea but I thought he was the b*llocks Aston Villa - Gordon Cowans. Class player with one hell of a hooter Chelsea - Zola. Little genius. Would rather he'd played for us than (tried to) managed us Everton - Nevile Southall. Proper old school keeper. Mad, fat and looked like a Paraffin... Fulham - Rodney Marsh. Can you imagine going over there and watching him Sir Bobby and Besty ****ing about...? Liverpool - John Barnes. Best player I've ever seen in the flesh. Nuff said. Man City - Kinkladze. Brilliant little player Man Utd - Has to be Cantona although I always had a lot of time for Mark Hughes too... Newcastle - Gazza. Second best player I ever saw. We haven't produced a better midfielder since... Norwich - Ian Crook. Class player from the days when you could afford to have a stylish midfielder that ponced about and didn't break sweat (see Ian Bishop below) QPR - Stan Bowles the maverickest of all maverick geniuses. Pure skill. Reading - I have no ****ing idea.. Southampton - Le Tissier. What a ****ing player. The fact that he had so few England caps tells you everything you need to know about the problem with our game Stoke - See Reading Sunderland - Nope can't think of one for them either.... Swansea - Tottenham - Hoddle. Made it look easy, so good it sent him cuckoo... West Brom - Tie between Jeff Astle (purely for sending himself up on Fantasty Football League) and my mate's uncle Cyrille Regis. West Ham - Trev/Parlo/Ian Bishop. Please don't make me decide. Wigan - Now you're just being silly.....
Re: Fave Player From Each Team

Re: Fave Player From Each Team
Sorry mate. Start it anyway and rename this one 'Current Favourite...' or go for a 'Favourite International Team Player' thread maybe? It also might be worth dropping the 'Fave' word or the speech police might visit you again.
