Why on earth would you make such an assumption?Up the Junction wrote:Who'd start him against Man City this weekend, on the basis that he's fully fit?

Re: Andy Carroll
I wouldn't start him, that's asking for trouble and him getting crocked again, but I'd certainly give him at least half hour in the second half.Up the Junction wrote:Who'd start him against Man City this weekend, on the basis that he's fully fit?
However, should the manager feel he's able to start, then I'll trust his judgement.

Re: Andy Carroll
Not me. That’s even if the concept of a “fully fit” AC existed. Those days should be gone. Impact sub whilst he’s here in the hope his body might make it through 20-30 minutes.

Re: Andy Carroll
Against a team that move the ball better than most others on the planet, I'm not sure that the City game is one that Carroll would prove to be anything more than a liability, given even when fit, his work rate off the ball isn't great.
He's a target man. . . I fear he would be chasing shadows against City.
I genuinely believe Perez has more to offer against City than him.
I also think that with the exception of a minor miracle, we are going to get royally served this weekend.

My fear is that he will be on a mission to prove himself and will be a red card waiting to happen.

Me too, but I wouldn’t start him on Saturday (not saying you would, Diogenes, just answering the question above).Diogenes wrote:I, for one, am pleased he is back.
He’s a useful impact sub unless and until we run out of other, better options up front.

Depending on the score I can see him coming on for the last 15 minutes , hope he does well .

Re: Andy Carroll
He comes in with 15 minutes to go, grabs a brace, we win 2 - 1, inspiring the Toon to offer 10 mill in January.

Re: Andy Carroll
Not a starter but if he's fit enough, bring him on after 70 minutes and see what happens. Let's hope he stays in one piece.

The same as the chances of him remaining fit for the rest of the season boss.Up the Junction wrote:Who'd start him against Man City this weekend, on the basis that he's fully fit?
