The bloke with the long name at Man Utd and Giroud both scored fancy goals but neither can match the technique and execution of Carroll's, no way. If I'm really pushing it you could say the other two were just trying ther luck where as Carroll knew exactly what he wanted to do and how he was going to do it, it's the goal of the season, just like Payets free kick at Old Trafford should have been last season.

His "switching play" long range balls out to either wing were beautiful, some of his shorting passing was poor though.

Perfect performance from him on Saturday, led the attacking line well and at times, led our defence.

For pure technique, power, and purpose, that was the best overhead kick I've seen. None of this loop over the keeper, off the shin nonsense. You will not see such a connection on a goal like that again.

We won, Carroll scored.

He's probably sitting in a damp corner with Cardiff somewhere, playing conkers.

Slav's reaction on 24 secs...little hop and skip and then seems to remember his knees don't work:

I think I would prefer a gentle tap in every other week than a hatrick and a spectacular finish every six months or so

It's the best overhead kick I've seen since TC against Forrest, circa 1988 (I think)

Remember that one?

I had to look at Giroud's effort as so much had been said about it. My thoughts are that he was chancing it, and got lucky having over run the ball and stuck out his leg. Carrolls effort was just the perfect goal, technique and execution - he knew exactly what he was doing from the moment Antonio flighted the ball.

How funny is that when Noble celebrating picks up the ball boy by the scruff of the neck at the end of the clip

It's definitely better than Di Canio's surely, this goal is really being undervalued. Probably due to the other wonder goals scored recently but that's better than Di canio for sure imo

Same as.

Giroud's is a great goal but there was a small element of luck to his flick whereas Carroll, well Carroll's goal was just a thing of beauty, and better. Without a doubt, the best scissor kick/overhead kick I have seen since Di Canio and so far, Goal of The Season.

Oh yes! The one & only time I ever took my Mrs. to a game. I went posh and we sat in the West Side Upper. Cracking game complete with Bonzo running around with a blood soaked bandage round his head!

So... Lets imagine Carroll goes on to complete this season injury free and grabs a few goals in the process... What would you do with him in the summer? Sell to anybody offering 10m+ or give him another season to try and prove he can remain injury free?

why would you sell him, and why for 10m? If he stays fit he's better than that useless lump Palace spanked 32m on
