Got a feeling this maybe a game too much for us.
After the Lord mayors show and all that.
Also think we will struggle in front of goal.
2-0 to them (based on nothing more than an illogical hunch and the fact that they are not a bad side.).
2-0 WHU. Song and kouyate to dominate midfield just because they can. Charlie Adam has a heart attack attempting to chase Valencia and shawcross sees red. Happy days
The only way I can describe stoke is when your moving house and you take out your oven that's been there for 10 years and there's that collection of gunk on back wall and floor. That's stoke in my eyes. COYI!!!
[quote="Nesticles"]Spoken to a few people about pubs to drink in before the game, no-one seems particularly sure.
If anyone could drop me a pm with a few names of some good pubs would be greatly appreciated /quote]
I`ll be in the Harvester next to the Holiday Inn Express b4 the game - Think a few will be in there for sure. Also staying there Sat night, so i`ll deffo be up for a few beers after to celebrate
I've been waiting to post on here for ages, without realising my account was activated!
I live in stoke, have done since I was 11. There really not a terrible bunch (girlfriend and family die hard stokies)
Going the game on Saturday. Really very little in the way of away pubs. Me and my old man will more than likely be in the harvester.
Actually currently sat in the railway, which is a massive stoke pub, dressed as Andy Carroll for a fancy dress birthday party. Many dodgy looks were had.
As for stoke, moses is by far their biggest threat. Really on top form this season. Diouf looks a good bit of business on a free, and crouch has recaptured his old form.
Absolutely Hammered! wrote:The only way I can describe stoke is when your moving house and you take out your oven that's been there for 10 years and there's that collection of gunk on back wall and floor. That's stoke in my eyes. COYI!!!
My least favourite team when I used to collect panini stickers. Too many players like Dyson who had a tash or like Micky Thomas who looked like he needed a wash. All a bit dirty and grubby for my liking.
If you are coming by train and arent in colours (and can evade the police shunting you to the student bar - which is hite and last year closed at 1.30 so they could make everyone go to the ground nice and early), then the Glebe (other side of the canal sort of behind the station) is a great old fashioned real ale pub. Joules is the brewer. Was there last year and highly recomend it.
Stoke have been very inconsistent and also do not seem to create many chances, which is almost completely opposite to how West Ham are playing right now.
But this is a big game for the Potters, because they come into it on the back of two defeats in the Premier League and Capital One Cup, and they need to find a way of winning it.
To get the three points they need to stop the Hammers and, if they succeed, then I also suspect this game will be a pretty dour affair.
Confidence must be running so high at the moment that when our team go onto that pitch on Saturday they will have absolute belief that they can take 3 points and that is half the battle! I am confident we will take something from the game, hopefully 3 points.
The table would look even better if we won this one. Outside of Moses I'm not sure what else they've got that could hurt us. So I think Sam will probably go for it. Hope so. It's worked so far for us.
Moses is without doubt the dangerman. Jenkinson has to start purely to try and keep up with his pace. Outside of moses they do have a few tricky players. Diouf when fit is a real handful. Much like our own Sakho he will work his socks off and has a knack of being in the right place at the right time. Assaidi when he plays is capable of the sublime but incredibly greedy.
General feeling amongst those I've spoke to tonight is they'd be happy with a draw. Can't help but agree that Sam will go for this one. They are lacking both in central midfield and defence and we've got the players to hurt them. Praying Sakho makes this one, want see the fella in action so bad!
