Suggested M'Villa in the summer, would be a useful signing even more so in our current predicament
Also all these old players are going to want good deals of 2/3 years with big wages, when they are towards the end anyway and only have a year left in them, all a bit Redknapp esque

Today's Hate Mail reporting that Fellani will only be allowed to be transferred in January not let out on loan.
That's us ruled out then.

We're a top level professional football club dude. I know Sullivan is a bit of a muppet and we aren't playing very well but christ, everyone's not just sitting around eating biscuits and ****ing into a flannel.
I'm not so sure! It certainly didn't seem like we had any proper right back targets in the summer. We just went after Arbeloa(eventually) as he was on a free and we could complete a deal quickly.

Re: Sullivan BS Loans and Free Signings January 2017 thread
And Byram, too - two right backs.
It was only after Slav was told to stop pissing about/realised he needed to stop pissing about with Antonio that we moved for a right back. Arbeloa was an easy deal to do for an experienced right back - seemed sensible at the time. Just wish he gave a toss.
Funny that we've now got Antonio at right wing back (and doing OK with it).

I don't know if you guys read an article someone posted not to long ago about Southampton, but they have a host of players lined up for every single position. They always sell their best players but they have more than adequate players lined up to target if any of their players leave or are injured. We are more than capable of having a similar system, or at least, a bit more direction with regard to transfer targets.

Apparently we are in for this bloke: Taken from January speculative transfer thread on MSN
Montpellier winger Ryad Boudebouz is a target for three Premier League clubs. Southampton, West Brom and West Ham are all reportedly keen to sign him.
He would be an ideal foil for Andy Carroll

Missed out on this guy Augustinsson when Cresswell injured pre-season. Only offered peanuts though. Two more assists last night.

But what other top level football clubs put all there eggs in one basket and only work with certain agents, which, in turn, leads us to only deal with certain players?

Fully three-quarters of their signings this summer came from the same agent.

Re: Sullivan BS Loans and Free Signings January 2017 thread
reckon byram would've been a regular starter by now if he'd stayed fit. big shame that.
he was running in training as of a week ago so hopefully not too long.
would rather bring through the england u21 talent on our books than go shopping for some retirement dodging foreigner.

Scott Hogan from Brentford might be worth a look.

In fairness,I don't think Arbeloa has been dodging retirement since joining us.I think he has fully embraced it.Beavis Danzig wrote:reckon byram would've been a regular starter by now if he'd stayed fit. big shame that.

Been very impressed with him, whenever I've seen Brentford on the box.YorksHammer wrote:Scott Hogan from Brentford might be worth a look.
I'm sure he could make the step up.

A pretty big reason aside from already having numerous players in that position must surely be that both he and Feghouli would be away in the African CoN for four to six weeks.hammer1975 wrote: French press is linking us with Boudebouz (Feghouli's Algerian team mate)
Seems unlikely for a number of reasons but one report seemed to think we'd had scouts watching him

Can't see this elsewhere. Apparently agreed a contract with Murat Saglam. Can play number 10, centre forward, on the wing, or right back, and as been playing wing back.
So a young Turkish Antonio
