PSF: FC Winterthur v West Ham Utd: match thread

Post by Ariksan »

Just announced today by FC Winterthur.
West Ham will play a pre-season friendly on Sunday 08.07.2018 in Winterthur (Switzerland) 15:00 CEST / 14:00 BEST.
Venue to be confirmed, likely at Schützenwiese in Winterthur.
Edit: there is a high probability that the game will actually take place on a neutral ground in a different city

Since I live in Winterthur I'd hope to be there with my family :scarfer:

In case the game is in Winterthur... there is a cheap hostel near the main station and several good hotels in and around the old city of Winterthur.
Plenty of good drinking spots in the old city.

Any danger of West Ham announcing where this game is going to be held seeing as it's less than 3 weeks away...

Because of the success of the trip...the flights have gone up

The price is now 375/450

This includes the Davos card which allows free transport on cable cars and mountain railways

Tickets in the 'home' stands are now available online, but we have our own end that it appears we can only buy via West Ham. I've sent an email asking when they will be available.

Home tickets range from 18 Swiss Francs behind the goal (similar to our section), up to 45 Francs for the 'posh' seats (thats GBP14 to GBP34)

There should not be any trouble supporting and cheering for West Ham from the main stand (Sector A) and the covered east stand (standing area, Sector C) as long as you are not a dick and actively start trouble.

I'd be more reserved in Sector B but (aka the "Beer Stand") but again, as long as you are not a dick....

Usually friendlies at FC Winterthur are just that - very friendly events. The club is also famous for being kids friendly. Kids have their own little tiny stand called the 'Syrup Stand'. Not sure how accessible it is for away fans though.

They played St. Pauli 3 times in the past few years in pre-season. Never any trouble, just a huge party for both sets of supporters..

Many Thanks for all the bookings...we now have booked a full size coach

This trip is more of a Holiday with a game on than the other way around and fantastic value for a long weekend in the beautiful resorts of Davos and Klosters.

Beer is £3.50 a bottle...

FYI

The stadium has its own bar - the libero bar. It is in the home section of the stadium next to the main stand. However, after the game it is accessible for everyone including visitors. It is a place were home and away supporters can party together, having beers and chat away.

Excuse the dodgy translation software, but ska/reggae djs in the Libero bar afterwards, away fans are welcome:
For the special friendly match against the club from the London East end, we have hired the matching DJ for the 3. Nd Half: the proven DJ crew of the fcw-group turmoil makes the audience fit to ska, reggae and rocksteady Swaying, dancing, celebrating, - as always on and next to the terrace of the Libero Bar-Der Treffpunkt im Stadion Schützenwiese.

Fight for your right to Party – after the match till 20.00h: Ska, Reggae, Rocksteady with the Tumult DJ-Crew at the Stadium Area -> Libero Bar - Der Treffpunkt im Stadion Schützenwiese.

Quick heads up for all those travelling to Switzerland this weekend with the Hornchurch Coach Group.

London Heathrow clients have been contacted directly

Bill Gardner has arranged all those on the Gatwick flight for their meet

The City Airport group should meet up with Chas and Dennis at Swiss check-in at 08.30

Everyone will meet at arrivals at 12.30 at Zurich for the coach transfer to Davos

The transfer should take 2 hours so we will check in an hour before the England game hopefully (local time 16.00)

You will need 18 swiss francs for tourist tax each...which will then allow you to free public transport inc cable cars for the whole of your stay.

The coach will depart for the game at 12 noon Sunday and return straight after the match to Davos, this coach will be for Hornchurch coach clients only and no favours/detours i'm afraid.

We will be doing a mountain pub tour on the Monday here...http://www.wfj.ch/restaurants/panoramarestaurant.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
, http://www.bergrestaurant-hoehenweg.ch/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, http://www.parsennhuette.ch/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On the final day...we will be doing a boat trip on the way back to Zurich airport....https://www.walenseeschiff.ch/Angebot/K ... nt-Schiffe" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; which is payable direct with me at 30 chf inc boat fare and coach costs

Are you sure this includes public transport? Seems very cheap for Switzerland.

Edit: Yes it's true, special offering during the Summer... Good deal!
