We will struggle with Antonio and that imbecile Arthur at full back. Even against Cardiff.

I would honestly play 3atb with wingbacks against Cardiff. Its a team we can risk doing it against and Masuaku would thrive on the left of that system.

If we try and play a back four with Antonio and Masuaku as fullbacks then it will be a long old evening.

our fullbacks are essentially wingbacks under pellegrini. with dec screening and getting forward instead of playing as an out and out CB.

Should play the exact same team as against Newcastle

Time to give Hernandez a run now, to see if he has a future with us. Proven, quality finisher and like nobody else in our squad. And it's not like we don't create lots of chances.

It's been very stop-start for him under Pellers. Now's the time to step up and prove he can be an important player.

We won’t. Besides, right back is Antonio’s best position IMO. He has a future there if he works at it.

He’s the sort of poacher who should be able to grab a few goals against weaker sides.

IB but then what would you propose against Palace? I doubt we will name an unchanged XI for 3 games in 7 days. The squad is there to rotate and stop injuries from fatigue and surely Cardiff at home is a fixture we can reasonably expect to do that in?

Would like to see a similar line up to the one we played against Newcastle.

Take it one game at a time.

Would be utter madness to suddenly change to a back 3.

THIS is what West Ham does.

There will be only up to a goal in it.....either way!

Fabianski
Antonio Diop Balbuena Masuaku
Rice
Noble Snodgrass
Anderson
Arnautovic Hernandez

Cardiff will sit back and aim to frustrate so we can afford two more attacking fullbacks, Rice can drop back if need be.

If we don’t grab a goal it will be another Brighton/Huddersfield so the attacking players like Snodgrass, Anderson, Arnautovic and Hernandez need to get amongst it quickly.

3-0 West Ham, Hernandez, Arnautovic, Anderson.

We beat Man U, got a clean sheet against Chelsea and, if not for a freak deflected goal, would have got a clean sheet away to leicester (with 10 men) all with Arthur at left back. If him and a temporary RB are playing Tuesday we should still be able beat Cardiff

I know what the manager has said regarding Zab and the heavy schedule this month but I'd be inclined to stay as we were and try and get the win Tuesday then worry about who's fit/tired after that. I'm not a fan of trying to '2nd' guess what may or may not happen.

The point about Zab being one booking away from a suspension is a very valid one, for that reason alone I’d play him against Cardiff and if we want to rest him against Palace tell him to make sure he gets booked (the later the better).
