Just think about it this way...

If there was a player identical to Defoe but without his connections to us up for grabs (probably cheap as Ramos wants him out!); who would want them to sign???

Think there's more chance of us signing Jermaine Jackson so all this speculation is academic.

IMO I can't see him returning either, plus I would much rather see Fred on the team sheet.

Being the word in question.

Many make the mistake in thinking that 'we' are a collective unit so if someone makes a statement contrary to what 'we' believe, then that person is fickle.

It always happens on here that collective posters get accused of being fickle, yet said posters usually never said anything contrary in the first place

Lets just allow every other **** back to our club...players like Reo Coker and Benayoun will get abuse when they return to Upton Park but obviously Defoe is great as he gets a few goals here and there and a few appearances here and there. If we want a striker at the same level as Defoe why not go for Kitson from Reading, gets just as many goals and is technically better.

I see he is on Ch4 tonight buying a Million pound pad in Majorca. Another reason for many to hate him even more.
Me, I like him.

well yes I'm not happy with what Defoe, did and the way he left the club but I'm a person who dose not bare a grudge and is always willing to forgive and forget and if Defoe did come back and gave it the same commitment he showed before it all went wrong then i'd be more then happy to have him back.

Defoe would improve our squad immensly therefore it is a step forward. Unless you are saying signing any of our former players would be taking a step back which is b*llocks as many of our old players would improve us, especially the ones from our 'golden generation'.

I have nothing against Defoe but we need to be stronger in midfield. We still need more creativity in the middle, especially as Parker is so injury prone.

Even though he was a **** when we got relegated, I think he was just young and immature and if he wanted to come back I think that will show he has some massive bollox because he know's there is going to be a proportion of the fans that will hate him for what he has done and he is ****ing awesome, he will get you goals and that is exactly what we need.

Defoe would probably start more games than Bellamy (always injured) and he is better than Zamora or Camara and anyone that would have him here because Zamora is better than him or because we don't need him is clearly on crack....
