Oh he beat it later:

Mowbray: I wonder what the manager has up his sleeve?
C**t: His shirt

I usually dread the ITV coverage of England because of Townsend. But Lawro is far worse. It's like listening to a drone bomb, droning on until it finally lands and f@*ks up all your dreams. The BBC need to get Stan Collymore. He's a class media act in my view.

The other bloke said the WH reject thing no?

If only Lawro was as funny as he thought he was... Still, better than ITV.

Its a tough call when trying to decide who I hate more - Lawro, Tyldesley or Townsend. The ITV pair usually win it and extended their lead after their frankly embarrassing showing over the course of Chelsea's Champions League run, but Lawro has been so horrendous the past couple of weeks he has definitely closed the gap.

As for Guy Mowbray's snidey little 'West Ham reject' comment about Diamanti, what a pathetic little prick he is. One of the crumbs of comfort I take from Englands defeat is Diamanti scoring the winning penalty and sticking it to Mobray.

Agree with this and also think they could do worse by getting in Andy Gray ! Yes, he made a bit of a ricket etc etc when on Sky but he knows his football. Lawrensen must have some really dodgy polaroids of his gaffers is all I can say...

I find commentators bias towards players on the England national team, and English teams in Champions league fixtures to a lesser extent quite embarrassing. When an Italian hits the deck clutching his face after being kicked in the arm, he is a drama queen and should get up and be a man. But then when Ashley Young or Wayne Rooney dive, it is a blatant foul or the old chestnut, a stonewall penalty. Even when they see the replay and they are in fact wrong, they don't acknowledge it. I have taken to watching some games recently with the mute button on so I am less irritated by the one sided opinion and also the poor proninciation of exotic surnames :D

Will Gary Neville keep commentating now he´s a part of the English coaching team?
I´ve been very impressed with his commentating.

He was a reject though, no?

Ok, the manager that got rid was a clueless ****, but he was rejected.

Yes I suppose he was. However, I would have expected a professional commentator for the BBC to tell us things like the number of goals he scored last season, how many caps and goals he has for Italy etc - showing that he'd done some research for the job he is payed to do. But no, all he could come out with was some throw away comment that showed no insight whatsoever. Pathetic commentary.

Yes but the commentator was implying the fact he was a West Ham reject would make it even worse i.e. not even from one of the "big clubs" they constantly jerk off over.

Watching a bit of the Grand Prix yesterday on the BBC, I noticed there was an option to switch between TV commentary, Radio 5 commentary, or no commentary at all. Why can't they do the same for football?

The ironic thing being though that Grand Prix commentating tends to be fairly insightful and worth listening too, unlike the drivel served up for football.
