Kumb App

Postby szola on Sat Jan 28, 2012 3:14 pm

Do you have plans to make a KUMB App in the near future?

Don't know if this is the right forum,
I have been using my phone to surf the interweb and on it kumb.
Mostly it's easy to navigate, but it is quite difficult to post.
I'm using the Dolphin browser at the moment, but have the same issue on the Opera.

The window is small, and it is impossible to see what you write.
Any chance that kumb can become more phonefriendly?

Android for me.

What about Kumb using phpBB's mobile version rather than an app?

Only Android

Would appreciate anything that would make it easier to read/write on a phone.

You could click on the Powered by phpBB link at the bottom of the topic - and type 'mobile' in the search box

Either would do me fine. The iPhone browsers keep losing the logon, even between pages. Very crappy.

Androids better for browsing by far.

I've not had to sign in with my Blackberry for weeks. Shame the screen is so small. Upgrade soon, bigger screen required.

There is an android app (not sure if it's available on iphone) for viewing forums - Tapatalk. It is a paid app (£1.99) and it needs to be authorised in some way by the forum itself. It seems to work well though on the forums I use it for.

What does this do? I often get a pop up saying that a site is tapatalk compatible, but I've yet to try it out

Basically it just makes viewing forums much easier on a smartphone than through the phone's web browser with all the faffing about re-sizing you get with that. You get a front page which is a list of forums you're signed up with (that are on tapatalk) then click on the one you want to browse.

I'm not had it long so haven't discovered all the bells and whistles but you can set it to send notifications to your phone if someone replies to one of your threads or posts, or sends you a PM.
