You will pay top dollar if you buy in this country...just get out there and buy as near to the kick off as poss

Don't worry about this name malarkey on the ticket...they Germans will have enough probs on their hands without checking IDs.

Here's the thing, I'm in the process of planning a 2 week road trip on the last two weeks of the World Cup itself with my missus and my best mate and his. Now what are the logistics and things I need for this to go smoothly, do you think? Like spending first 2/3 days in France and Paris , then Sometime spent in Belgium before final destination Germany. Whether we could sneak a World Cup game in or two of whoever would be a bonus but mainly doing it for the craic of it all and atmos! We're taking two tents fwiw lol. I'm taking an estate so should have room for the usual travel stuff like.

Any thoughts guys and gals, Romford, on things to take/have extra to make it work?? Chars in advance.

Cheapest ferry is Ramsgate-Ostend so do the Belguim thing first. Bruge and Ghent are nice...so is Knokke on the coast.

Wouldn't bother with Paris...Reims is much nicer and cheaper and you can do a few tasting things in the Champagne houses. :pissed: Look out for Formula one/Premier Classe hotels on the outskirts of towns which only charge 10-20 sovs a room and you get a shower.

Drop through Luxembourg and fill the motor up as its the cheapest place for petrol. Don't forget to drop into Adinkerke on the Belg/France border to fill up on your cheap tobacco to sell to your friends

What to take ?

Good map, fridge for the car that plugs into the cigarette lighter, plenty of change for the tolls....

In Germany i'd say go down to Heidelberg but thats because it gorgeous and where we're going to....plenty of campsites on the necker river just outside the city

Purely on the usual bias, I cannot see any Brazilian other than Ronaldhino being chosen. I think France will struggle, which rules out Henry. Rooney is a decent bet, but not as good as him being sent off at some stage.
Messi got another brace for Barca last night.....

He's been out for a couple of months wit a thigh injury. Personally think he's overrated and if we can get a tidy sum for him we should sell him asap. There were talks with Man City to replace SWP, kind of similar players.

Pff, dont follow the national team. Think the familiar players like Robben, Van Persie and Cocu will do a good job. Personally quite like our centre backs Boulahrouz and Matthijsen.

Kuyt just extended his contract and had been linked/negotiated with Spurs, arse, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc. One of the few players with genuine love for the club, instead of the badge kissers. Will probably leave after the WC.

Basing myslef in frankfurt and travelling by train to all games might even get down to baden baden if have the time, gonna be there for first three games so hoping i get at least two in the EF ballot,if i was driving i'd go via hook of holland from harwich its the cheapest route and only two hours from holland into germany

Trust me, the boat into Ostend is much cheaper and the time factors all in are not much different

Yeah, new coach at NAC was going to use him as sub, so he'd rather be pinchhitter at a 'top-side'. As long as he remembers what hes been bought for i think he will valuable for the team.

ontopic: he wont be going to Germany :P Just like me. Would be nice to travel around a bit, but as ive said, i dont really give a **** about Oranje.

PS you were pretty close with spelling Van Hooijdonk. Best effort Ive ever seen from a foreigner 8-)
