If they don't take the captaincy off him now it'll be a joke. You could make an argument for it on the merits after Parker's rocket at halftime and the subsequent result anyway - if he's now decided he's off in a few months it should be an absolute no-brainer

It'll be interesting to see why he isn't signing a new contract.

If it's because he doesn't want to play for West Ham any more then fair enough, if he thinks he'll be picking and choosing which CL team he plays for at £100k per week, then good luck is all I can say.

I would put Upson in the team but strip him of the captaincy for sure. Blooody bloke was a croc till we got him sorted. Think he would be more grateful.

An achievement given the form of our back room fitness team with other players. Totally concur with taking the captaincy away from him; I've felt for some time that Upson has been one of the major protagonists for unrest off the field and in the dressing room. Has played fairly well in games this season, but his captaincy has been weak when he should have been driving players on in games we should have won. See him as a loose cannon now, Grant needs to tread carefully in his selection of him, may not be caring too much about the club's fate.

Actually he got himself sorted Hugh - and no thanks to the club. He paid for his own specialist (a kineticist) to be flown over from S Africa and this guy sorted his feet out, which were causing the repeat muscular injury problems.
