Thanks CH, loved Rio but not sure now with his record over the last couple of seasons. But you don't know if he retired from international football and just played for us who knows.
Nice romantic idea though having one of our Own Great's back? Oh sod it, if he would come back it's a YES from me. :raver:

that's not what you base business on.Yea Why Not wrote:I mean, surely one of these days a gamble has to pay off for us
so making a 34 yo and injury prone our higher earner would be good business for you, 'cos with all the "bad luck" we've had this have to be ok.
mmmh, not too convinced

Well we've got Nolan at 33 on 50k a week. I know who I'd rather havewarp wrote:

Just think how **** Nolan is going to be in a few years time
Re: thursday's news 10th november includes west ham
In a few years time, Nolan's leadership skills will still be the same, and I would doubt he would play week in week out, so what's the issue? We've had a lot worse in any event.Yea Why Not wrote:

If Rio was happy to come, on a wage that isn't excessive, and maybe not play every week, but pass on his experience and knowledge to Tomkins, Reid and any of the youngsters that are pushing on the fringes of the first team squad (Spence and McNaughton to name a couple) then I'd be happy to have him back.

Cheers CH as always.
Rio, yes please. Wouldnt expect 38 games from him, nor would he probably, but would just love to have him back where he belongs, even if for no more than 1 or 2 seasons.

Elliot Hewitt & Pelly Ruddock....it seems like BFS is hanging around playgrounds now.....honestly I was scouting M'lud
Re: thursday's news 10th november includes west ham
Faye is at the moment as good as Rio is at the moment.
But Rio can come back to Chadwell heath and become our defensive coach. (maybe a playing one) He is smart and has certainly learnt a few things during the years....
Welcome back...

Yeah, I'm sure it wouldn't be valuable at all to have Rio telling Tomks and Reid, "See, when I was marking Messi, I did this."
Still better than what we have, still a West Ham trained player, still worth the money. For one or two seasons then retiring gracefully would be a good match, especially considering what he would bring to our club in terms of leadership, experience, and coaching for the younger players. Sam wouldn't throw loads of money at him if he were totally past it and/or not worth it.
Bang on to go to Spurs.

Cheers CH
I thought we were looking onwards and upwards.......don't want Ferdinand, don't want Del Piero
^
Agree with that, I think we should be looking for younger players who have their best to give.

Think we should be concentrating on the three points to be won at Coventry playing beautiful football, rather than the 20-25 million war chest Sam will have to spend next season. Cart before Horse.
Cheers as always CH for the news.

Why are you lot even talking about getting Rio, if he's given the choice of us and Spurs, where do you think he's going to go?
