West Ham face £6m tag for Holt, while keeper Green leaves on a free;
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has been told it will take £6m to land Norwich striker Grant Holt.
Allardyce will also face competition from ex-Norwich boss Paul Lambert’s Aston Villa and newly-promoted Reading for the want-away striker.
Holt, 31, has asked for a transfer and Norwich face a battle to keep him despite trying to offer him a new improved contract.
But Lambert’s acrimonious departure may also prove crucial and Norwich are determined if they have to sell then it will not be on the cheap.
West Ham are keen but their £3m enquiry has been knocked back with Norwich officially insisted that no official bid has yet been lodged.
It remains to be seen whether Norwich would entertain an offer from Villa but Lambert’s fall-out is unlikely to make it an easy deal.

Green out, Jaaskelainen in
West Ham chairman David Gold has confirmed England goalkeeper Rob Green will leave the club this summer.
Green, 32, will be out of contract at the end of June and has not agreed new terms despite the Hammers’ promotion back to the Barclays Premier League.

Former captain Matthew Upson left Upton Park as a free agent last year and Green is now set to follow suit having been linked with Tottenham, QPR, West Brom and Spanish side Malaga.
Gold wrote on Twitter: “Robert Green is a free agent he has chosen to move on. Matthew Upson did the same thing.”
He added: “Nobody wants Rob to leave but nothing is for ever, he must do what is best for him and we must do what is best for us.”
Green was an unused substitute as England beat Belgium 1-0 at Wembley yesterday in their final warm-up ahead of Euro 2012.
He joined the Hammers from Norwich for £2million in 2006 and made 241 appearances.
Manager Sam Allardyce has lined up Bolton’s Jussi Jaaskelainen as Green’s replacement.
The 37-year-old, who is also out of contract, will sign next week subject to passing a medical.
Jaaskelainen will compete with Stephen Henderson, whose loan move from Portsmouth became permanent last month, to be the club’s number one next season.

Green light for Spain
The England keeper’s contract expires at the end of this month and he has failed to agree new terms with the promoted Hammers.
Green, 31, was hoping for a £45,000-a-week deal at Upton Park but co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold were not prepared to meet his demands.
West Ham have lined up Bolton’s Jussi Jaaskelainen, who worked under boss Sam Allardyce at the Reebok, as Green’s replacement.
Jaaskelainen, 37, is set to sign for the east Londoners next week, subject to a medical.
Gold tweeted: “Robert is a free agent, he has chosen to move on. He is out of contract, he has refused to sign a new one. Matthew Upson did the same thing last summer.
“Nobody wants Rob to leave but nothing is for ever, he must do what’s best for him and we must do what’s best for us.”
QPR are keen on Green but he could plump for Spaniards Malaga, who clinched fourth spot in La Liga last season.
Green spent six years at West Ham — making 241 appearances — after then-boss Alan Pardew signed him from Norwich for £2million.

Canaries in tweet rage
The promoted Hammers have been linked with £4million swoop for the wantaway striker.
But angry Canaries chief executive McNally tweeted yesterday: “Just for the record, we have not received a £4m bid for Grant from West Ham as apparently is being suggested.”
Holt, 31, reaffirmed his desire to leave Carrow Road with Sunderland and Aston Villa — now being bossed by ex-Canaries chief Paul Lambert — also interested.
Holt stunned Norwich last month by requesting a transfer, an appeal which was rejected by the club he joined in 2009. His agent, Lee Payne, claimed they had refused to give him a three-year deal because of his age.
Hammers boss Sam Allardyce wants to add a proven striker to his squad following their promotion back to the top flight via the play-offs.
And Holt, who bagged 17 goals last term, fits the bill.

The 32-year-old is out of contract at the end of the month and has failed to agree new terms, despite the Hammers’ promotion back to the Premier League.
Tottenham, QPR, West Brom and Spanish side Malaga have all been linked with moves for Green.
He flies out to Euro 2012 with the England squad on Wednesday.
Hammers chairman David Gold said: “Robert Green is a free agent and has chosen to move on.”

West Ham and The Filth in race for Nicolas Anelka
Nicolas Anelka’s increasingly calamitous spell in China could be about to end as London clubs West Ham United and The Filth Hotspur are said to be plotting a move for the striker.
Anelka moved to Shanghai Shenhua in January, lured as much by a lucrative contract worth around £200,000 a week as the appeal of a new country.
However, in a little over five months he has seen his manager and compatriot Jean Tigana sacked, himself promoted to player-coach, and then Sergio Batista appointed without his knowledge.
“I’m not sure I can [accept a new coach],” he said at the time, apparently irritated that his old friend Jean-Florent Ikwange Ibenge didn’t get the job full time.
“At least the club should have informed me at the time I was made manager… I think they don't trust me.”
To add considerable insult to injury, Anelka then had to partner with 45-year-old team owner Zhu Jun in attack in a recent friendly.
Although there are rumours that Anelka’s former Chelsea colleague Didier Drogba will join him in Shanghai, it is thought The Filth are leading the race to bring him back to the Premier League – not least as talks with Emmanuel Adebayor appear to have hit the buffers.
However, newly promoted West Ham are also in the hunt. Sam Allardyce helped resurrect Anelka’s career at Bolton and is experience in the top level could be important to the Hammers’ survival chances.
The much-travelled Anelka might be packing his bags again.

West Ham bid £4m for Norwich's Holt
The West Ham manager, Sam Allardyce, has never shied away from fielding older players and will believe Holt can play a similar role for the Hammers as Kevin Davies did for him at Bolton. West Ham are also expected to move for 37-year-old Jussi Jaaskelainen, who has left Bolton after 15 years, as a replacement for Rob Green who has rejected the offer of a new contract.
Allardyce may face competition for Holt from Villa who on Saturday confirmed Lambert, who resigned last week from Norwich, as their new manager, despite an ongoing dispute over whether compensation is due.

Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion head the queue for West Ham United goalkeeper Rob Green
West Ham United have confirmed England goalkeeper Robert Green has decided to leave Upton Park.
Chairman David Gold says the 32 year-old has failed to agree new terms, opening the way for Queens Park Rangers and West Bromwich Albion to fight for his services. He has also attracted interest from Spanish club Malaga.
Gold announced Green’s departure on Twitter. “Robert Green is a free agent he has chosen to move on. Matthew Upson did the same thing,” he said.
“Nobody wants Rob to leave but nothing is for ever, he must do what is best for him and we must do what is best for us.”
Green joined West Ham from Norwich City for £2 million in 2006 and made 241 appearances for them. He was England’s No 1 heading into World Cup two years ago, but paid the price for a disastrous error in the opening game against the United States.
Since then, he has restored his reputation and is now the back-up for Joe Hart in Roy Hodgson’s squad. He was an unused substitute as England beat Belgium 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday.
