West Ham keeper Rob Green has reached stalemate over his future at Upton Park - and that has sparked interest from French club Monaco.
The Hammers hierarchy are reluctant to begin new contract negotiations with the 31-year-old until they know whether they will get back into the Premier League.
Green is still on Premier League money and West Ham are trying to run a tighter ship in the Championship, even though the England keeper is out of contract at the end of the season.

That has alerted several clubs including Monaco who, after being relegated to the second tier last season, have wealthy new backers.
Green may be open to a move abroad, but it could be seen as a risk to go to Monaco, whose No.1 keeper Sebastien Chabbert is a long-term injury absentee.
Its still not sure where back in the premier league, yet on the offical site it has Tomkins and Noble posing in next years outfits, geez were a bunch of cockey direspectful mugs.

I know its already been spotted, but thats a quality footnote you've added there CH
KUMB have a fascinating analysis of the players who left the club when we were relegated. With one or two notable exceptions they don't seem to have done very well. And if you look down the list, is there a single one, apart from Demba Ba, who you'd want back? Do read the full article HERE, but here's the list of players...
Thomas Hitzlsperger
Danny Gabbidon
Demba Ba
Jonathan Spector
Wayne Bridge
Matthew Upson
Kieron Dyer
Radoslav Kovac
Lars Jacobsen
Luis Boa Morte
Benni McCarthy
Robbie Keane
I think we need to be setting our sights higher than these sort of players now. Thats why when I see rumours of the likes of Kenwyne Jones, I shake my head with a sense of disbelief. Grant Holt? Yes, he got 15 goals last season but he's 31, with maybe two decent seasons ahead of him. I think not. We need to be looking at young players with proven track records or loads of potential. Step forward Jordan Rhodes. Six million for him of £4.5 million for Grant Holt? I know what I'd do.
i emailed ian dale twice asking if he would do a quick review of my website and nothing came back if you are reading this ian
