THE GUARDIAN: Roy Hodgson takes his England players into their opening match of Euro 2012 against France insisting they have shown enough during his brief time in charge to convince him the low expectations surrounding the team are misplaced. Also: Roberto Di Matteo is close to being named Chelsea's full-time manager as reward for delivering the club's first European Cup, having agreed a contract in principle at Stamford Bridge that could amount to more than a one-year deal.
