Big Sam's Gut feeling

The West Ham manager will take the Spaniard on his club's pre-season tour of Austria.

And if the 35-year-old can prove his fitness he will get a two-year deal at Upton Park.

Guti is available on a free and has been without a club since Turkish side Besiktas released him in November last year.

Barry O'Connor, who looks after Guti's affairs in England, said:: "West Ham will make a final decision before the next season starts. I cannot discuss what terms could be offered."

Guti has made more than 500 appearances and is one of Spain's most decorated players.

He won 15 trophies for Real, including three Champions League titles and five league wins.

Allardyce wants to add another cool head to his squad as he builds his squad for the Premier League.

The Hammers made an immediate return to the top flight last season doing it the hard way via the play-offs.

WEST BROM MULL OVER ROBERT GREEN

ROBERT GREEN could be offered a Premier League lifeline by West Brom.

The Baggies will turn to the 32-year-old former West Ham star if they can’t prise Ben Foster away from Birmingham.

Former England keeper Foster spent last year on loan at the Hawthorns and his permanent move to Albion seemed to hinge on whether the Blues got back into the top flight at the first attempt.

Birmingham missed out but now Albion are baulking at the £5m asking price, valuing the 29-year-old at nearer £3m.

Foster has attracted interest from QPR and Tottenham, but wants to stay in the Midlands.

And now new West Brom boss Steve Clarke could turn instead to Green if the Foster deal falls down.

He knows Green from his spell at Upton Park as Gianfranco Zola’s No.2 but wages could be an issue.

Manchester City are trying to sell Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz to raise funds to buy Arsenal striker Robin van Persie.

Gareth Bale could be set to follow Harry Redknapp out of White Hart Lane

Welsh winger Gareth Bale, 22, could be set to follow Harry Redknapp out of Tottenham after his agent admitted the lack of Champions League football "is a problem".

The Metro

Everton and Wolves target Bjorn Bergmann Sigurdarson, 21, believes he is being kept at Lillestrom against his will, which has left the striker "mentally broken".

Arsenal are interested in signing Russian international midfielder Alan Dzagoev, 21. The £13m-rated CSKA Moscow player is out of contract in December.

Daily Mail

Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar, 28, could be available for £17m after Schalke general manager Horst Heldt confirmed the striker has a buy-out clause.

talkSPORT

Former Bolton striker Johan Elmander, 31, has warned England to be prepared for a scrap when they take on Sweden.

Andre Villas-Boas is on Tottenham's shortlist to replace Harry Redknapp

Former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas is on the Tottenham shortlist as they seek a replacement for Harry Redknapp, who was sacked on Thursday.

Daily Mail

Besiktas have offered Alex McLeish a quick return to management following his sacking by Aston Villa last month.

Daily Mirror

A group of Belgian fans who put themselves up for sale on eBay after their team failed to qualify for Euro 2012 have been bought by an anonymous Dutch buyer for £2,400.

WEST BROM are at a stalemate with Birmingham over Ben Foster.
Follow The Sun on Twitter

Albion will go up to £3million for the keeper but cash-strapped Brum want DOUBLE that amount.

Foster admits he is in the dark and last night tweeted: "Sorry all, still haven't got a clue what's happening with me, but please know I have a so much love for #BCFC and #wbafc."

JAN MOLBY reckons Swansea and Michael Laudrup are a marriage made in heaven.

Laudrup will be unveiled as Brendan Rodgers’ successor on his 48th birthday today.

Ex-Swans player-boss and Denmark hero Molby said: “A team comfortable on the ball is important for Michael. He will make a mark.”

BOLTON will offer £1.5million for Leicester’s Matt Mills.

But the Foxes are set to shoot down the bid after paying Reading £5m for the defender.

CARDIFF boss Malky Mackay has been handed £25million to improve his Bluebirds squad.

The windfall comes from the club’s Malaysian investors.

Guti? Not sure about this one. Not sure how old Ivan Campo was when Sam brought him to Bolton but if I remember correctly Campo did well for Bolton. However I can't see Guti being the Ivan Campo of West Ham.

The idea that Green hasn't already got next season and beyond sewn up (West Brom giving him a 'lifeline') is absurd. He wouldn't leave us without having a cast iron contract in place elsewhere, given that he was offered a contract here, apparently on improved terms. The Press....why do we bother eh?

Jussi, Yakubu and now Guti! Any chance we could sign someone under 30 and not looking simply to fund his pension off us?

Look at scholes @ Man U. Class. Guti is a little younger and age is becoming less of a problem it seems. If he has kept himself fit, we may get a player to bring on with 20 mins to go if we are looking to keep the ball. Imagine the sideways passes between Guti & Noble...
