West Ham and Norwich eye up Steven N'Zonzi after Stoke confirm transfer request

THE fall out from Stoke's sacking of Tony Pulis continues to be felt at the Britannia Stadium with the club being forced to reject a transfer request from midfield regular Steven N'Zonzi.

While Wigan manager Roberto Martinez mulls over his future amid speculation that Mark Hughes has become the favourite to be Pulis' successor, midfield general N'Zonzi is looking to leave the club.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates admitted the Frenchman had asked to leave Stoke, saying: "I can confirm that we have received a written transfer request from Steven Nzonzi.

"We are not unduly worried about the situation as he is our player and has three years remaining on his contract."

N'Zonzi handed in a transfer request at former club Blackburn before sealing a £3 million switch to the Staffordshire outfit in August 2012.

The uncapped Frenchman is admired by former Rovers manager Sam Allardyce, who could make a play to bring him to West Ham this summer.

Norwich are also interested in the 24-year-old, who is believed to be keen on moving clubs in order to boost his international chances.
