Hammers linked with Liverpool midfielder

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has been linked with a summer move for Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey. Shelvey managed 33 appearances for the Reds last season but it is thought boss Brendan Rodgers is willing to allow the midfielder to move on to raise funds for his own transfer targets. Allardyce has now been linked with a move for Shelvey as he bids to strengthen his squad over the summer. The Hammers have already agreed a fee with Liverpool for the purchase of Andy Carroll, although the striker is yet to complete a move to Upton Park, and Shelvey could also be making the move from Merseyside to London if reports are to be believed.

Hammers in Bent Link

Several news sources are covering the possibility of Darren Bent leaving Aston Villa to return to London.

Bent, who has fallen out of favour a Villa Park, is keen for a London return whilst Villa are keen to get his wages, said to be £65,000 a week , off their accounts.

Sources say that Fulham have tabled a bid, said to be worth £4 million, but it falls short of Villa`s valuation.

However, with Andy Carroll yet to give a decision on whether he wants to stay at Upton Park and with Big Sam hoping that Chelsea allow us to loan Romelu Lukaku, is our interest in Bent as serious as the media are making out?

Free... big... sounds perfect for Big Sam.
Imagine the the discussions with the agents . . .

"Is he free?"

"Yep."

"Could he play in the NBA?"

"Yep."

"I'll sign him."
