Is the general concensus then that after lauding Hall for years the club think he isn't going to make it at the top level?

If we had really wanted to keep Hall then we would have made a decent offer, which we did not.Ozza wrote:

Its clear the club dont fancy him.
Has not really set the world alight at all in the championship has he?
There are not many signs that he could do a job yet in the Prem.
Re: monday's news 24th june includes west ham
What!!! , not one AC Caroll to West ham in a 150 million dollar deal(if he resigns for 10 years after this contract expires) story. Bloody hell thought id be reading at least 10 of these a day up until the start of the season

I have to agree, I saw him play several times for the youth team and the reserves a few seasons ago and he looked to have real potential, a good attitude too.mushy wrote: If we had really wanted to keep Hall then we would have made a decent offer, which we did not.

Fast forward a few seasons and he doesn't seem to have progressed. It takes me back to a conversation with Steve Tilson the Southend Manager about Junior Stanislas. I asked how he was doing at Southend on loan and he said he was a nice kid, had talent but without saying it outright he indicated that he didn't work hard enough at this game and thought he was better than he was.
He said kids from PL clubs on loan don't work enough at their game, thinking they have already made it.
I did think Hall was going to make it here, but it looks otherwise.

Re: monday's news 24th june includes west ham
Not sure where all this talk of him not doing well at Birmingham comes from?
7 assists in 13games for a 19 year old playing professionally for the first time in the second tier of english football isnt that bad ... unless I'm missing something. The manager wanted to keep him and the fans liked him from what I saw.
He joined Bolton with a groin injury and only managed one game with a side that were on fantastic run with a few weeks of the season to run. That same manager now wants to sign him permanently ......
Perhaps he feels that he wont get a far crack of the whip with us ....... can you blame him wuith respect? Bit early to dismiss his potential
