Re: monday's news 24th june includes west ham
Is David Luiz off to join the French revolution?
639 years ago to the very day, a young woman in Aachen, Germany, suddenly felt compelled to dance. She didn't know why but she couldn't stop. All around her house she jigged, reeling from room to room and then straight out the door and into the street … where she found hundreds of other folk doing the same thing, all bopping and jiving as if a mass rave had been declared. But there was no music and, so far as anyone has been able to establish, no drugs. Just hundreds and hundreds of dancing peasants who had no idea why they had started and no clue how to stop – until, hours later, they all collapsed from exhaustion. That was Europe's first major outbreak of choreomania but there would be several more over subsequent centuries, yet historians never truly figured out what was behind the huge psychogenic episodes dubbed "the dancing plague". The Mill, however, believes it was all down to rumours.
Because just look at the itch in the feet of Chelsea fans as word reaches them that DJ José is preparing to get busy with the wallet: first up will be a pair of young French centre-backs – Sevilla's Geoffrey Kondogbia and Saint Etienne's Kurt Zouma. Reports in France say that Real Madrid are also after the pair but that is precisely what selling clubs would leak if they wanted Mourinho to bid even harder. Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani isn't exactly playing hard to get, answering a question about his availability with a seductively rhetorical: "Who could turn down Chelsea or Real Madrid?"
Chelsea jiltee Florent Malouda has emerged from suspended animation and is right now shuffling his way over to Greece for a slowie with Olympiakos. And funky David Luiz is being eyed up by Paris Saint-Germain, where Laurent Blanc is expected to be confirmed on Monday as the new master of ceremonies.
Barcelona are going to try to persuade Thiago Alcantara to loiter around their bench for another few years by cannily offering him lots more money. But the footballer is determined to go play football and, according to the Daily Mirror, his dad reckons Manchester United are the team for him. But Manchester City and PSG are also giving him the eyes. All of which suggests he's going to get both football and lots more money.
The Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama is trying to make his mind up about whether he favours Southampton, Cardiff or Stoke. Saints were reported to have had a bid of £10m accepted but that "has stalled", according to the Daily Mail, leading Cardiff and Stoke to believe they could yet go a-gazumpin'. Something fishy seems to be afoot on the south coast, as the Roma striker Pablo Osvaldo and the Cagliari midfielder Radja Nainggolan are also turning their noses up at Southampton.
Manchester City want Luis Suárez to pretend he never said them things about wanting to get away from the English media and really just wanted away from Liverpool.
Norwich and Everton want Arouna Koné to pretend he never said them things about wanting to stick around and help Wigan get back to the Premier League.
The agent of the Sochaux defender Sébastien Corchia has indicated that his client is more inclined to move to Lyon than Arsenal, which suggests Lyon are more inclined than Arsenal to sign him.
And to conclude the body-popping, know that Aston Villa are still interested in Montpellier's Younes Belhanda. Yes, that is the rumour equivalent of collapsing from exhaustion.

Shame about Hall. I would hope that there is always a place for a few Academy prospects in a squad of 25. Having 2 'proven' players for every position is a curse.
