47 day's to go
KEEPING IN SHAPE ... Titus Bramble
Titus gets some Hammer time
TITUS BRAMBLE has stepped up his bid for a new club by training with West Ham.
The defender is with the Hammers to maintain his fitness having been released by Sunderland.
Bramble, 31, has been linked with Turkish outfit Besiktas and former club Ipswich, along with a move Stateside to the MLS.
But the former Newcastle and Wigan centre-half’s future is still up in the air.
Bramble fell out of favour at Sunderland under new boss Paolo Di Canio and his contract with the club officially expired at midnight.

Freebie: Bramble is available for nothing after his release from Sunderland
Back to business: West Ham striker Andy Carroll appeared to be in good spirits as he returned to training

Up and running: Joe Cole and Jack Collison (L) get to work on their first day back in training

New signing: Goalkeeper Adrian turn up for his first day at Chadwell Heath
All smiles: Hammers skipper Kevin Nolan is looking forward to a week training in Ireland, where Ravel Morrison will look to impress manager Sam Allardyce following his return from a loan spell last season at Birmingham
Happy Hammers: Sam Allardyce's side finished in 10th place last season on their return to the Premier League
Bramble training with West Ham... so is Big Sam ready to move for freebie defender?
Titus Bramble has trained with West Ham United on their first day back for pre-season training.
The 31-year-old, who is available on a free transfer following his release from Sunderland, turned up for the Hammers’ first session of the summer at the club’s Chadwell Heath training ground on Monday morning.
Bramble, linked with a move to Turkish club Besiktas over the weekend, has had no other offers since he was let go by Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio at the end of last season.
The former Ipswich, Newcastle and Wigan centre-back is clearly looking for new employers to maintain a career which has mostly been played in the top flight.
But his presence with Sam Allardyce’s squad today provoked a series of derogatory comments from Hammers supporters on fans’ forums and social network sites.
Fan Paolo Mulgrew tweeted: `Please God West Ham DO NOT sign Titus Bramble!’
Privately, West Ham are insisting Bramble has simply been offered a place to train while he finds a new club.
But the central defender has been linked with a move to Upton Park in the past and, as a free transfer with vast Premier League experience, fits the profile of an Allardyce signing.
West Ham travel to Ireland tomorrow for an intensive week-long training camp in Cork and if Bramble is included in that party, it could be that West Ham will be his latest destination after all.
Meanwhile, new £15.5millon record signing Andy Carroll was all smiles as he turned up at the club's Chadwell Heath training ground and there was a return to east London for former Manchester United youngster Ravel Morrison, following his successful loan spell at Birmingham.
Carroll will be working hard to regain his fitness in time for the season opener against newly-promoted Cardiff after suffering a heel injury in May.
The striker did not join his team-mates, including new recruit Razvan Rat, during their first session back and instead stuck with his own rehabilitation programme as he ramps up his recovery bid.
The England international, 24, posted a short message on Twitter, saying: 'Back to business'.
Hammers new Spanish goalkeeper Adrian arrived in a Black Cab for his first day with his new team-mates, who head to Ireland on Tuesday for an intensive week-long training camp.
While most of their Premier League rivals return to training later this week, captain Kevin Nolan believes manager Allardyce is right to bring his team back from the beach early.
West Ham enjoyed an impressive comeback season in the top-flight, finishing in 10th place last term off the back of their promotion from the Championship.
They host last season's Championship winners Cardiff on the opening day of the new campaign on August 17 and Nolan expects West Ham to get off to a strong start.
'I think we're one of the first Premier League teams back with the season seven weeks away,' he said, speaking to the club's official website.
'Sam's always done it this way, I've always found that he does it the right way and the plan is that we get off to another fantastic start this season.
'Looking at all the boys, we've done the bits and bobs we were set out to do by the fitness team over the summer, and we've got our first game on Sunday which we're looking forward to.
'We've got to make sure that step-by-step we get fitter and fitter, and are ready and raring to go when we face Cardiff at the Boleyn Ground for the first game of the season.'
West Ham play their first pre-season game this Sunday against Cork City at the Turner's Cross, and Nolan added: 'I'm looking forward to a good week in Ireland with the boys, catching up on the banter and with what everyone's done over the last six weeks.'
Robert Hall has left West Ham on a free transfer to join Championship side Bolton.
The 19-year-old, who only made seven senior appearances for the Hammers, spent most of last season out on loan at Birmingham and has signed a three-year deal at the Reebok Stadium.

All Over Before It Even Began?
West Ham goalkeeperThere have been very obvious strange signings by all managers, at all clubs. However, none seem stranger than Stephen Henderson’s. This signing has dumbfounded me for some time, because despite the promise that was brought to the club by Henderson, we have rarely seen it come to fruition. Stephen may be on his way from the club, with not much to show for it.
I can understand the logic behind the signing, and the reasoning for the signing. It was only natural for Allardyce to look for a promising, young talented goalkeeper to stand behind Robert Green. Though, it seemed at the time of his signing that he would be the one to replace the departing Green at the end of the season. Nonetheless, the signing seemed strange just as he had joined the club. During West Ham United’s charge for promotion, Sam Allardyce was only allowed 5 substitutes. Although, Henderson rarely featured on the bench. He opted for the versatile Lansbury, who at one point had to prove his versatility.
I can also then understand that due to the lower than usual number of permitted substitutes, Allardyce would have wanted his strongest bench, and relinquishing a place to a substitute ‘keeper reduced the possibility of a strong bench. Yet, this move seems to have foreshadowed the motion of Henderson’s redundant nature. The policy of not fielding Henderson on the bench, even though it is for a practical nature has shown to be a defining moment in his time at West Ham United. Now, in the summer of 2013, it seems all to be at a conclusion. With the signing of Adrian and Jussi impressing last season, Henderson now seems to be third choice goalkeeper.
This is why Sam Allardyce and his transfer policy on goalkeepers have increasingly frustrated me. What was the point in bringing Henderson into the club? It is becoming apparent that Allardyce has either lost ‘interest’ with Henderson, or he never favoured him in the first place. Maybe, I am becoming frustrated with the recent times of West Ham United goalkeepers, and the lack of progression at the club. Robert Green was a good goalkeeper; understudy to him was Stech, Boffin and now Spiegel has been brought in to understudy Jaaskelainen. Henderson added to the understudy department. I wish that we had a goalkeeper lined up for the future to become the permanent number one at the club who we could have molded into a solid and consistent number one. I hope the signing of Adrian has been for that purpose, a keeper with a lot of talent and promise stepping up for West Ham United. Or else, in a years time, when the contract, and possibly the career of Jussi Jaaskelinen, has come to its conclusion and the club are looking, yet again, for another goalkeeper.
Stephen Henderson faces an ultimatum, for his career as a professional, and his career as a Hammer. In my opinion, his time at West Ham United doesn’t seem to show a lot of promise that it showed back in January of 2012. However, he could stay and fight for his place, and who knows, he could be the number one goalkeeper this time next year.
London Mayor Boris Johnson (C) throws a football as West Ham soccer players, owners and youth team players watch, in front of the Olympic Stadium at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London March 22, 2013. London soccer club West Ham United will make the Olympic Stadium their new home from 2016, ensuring that the 430 million pound ($650 million) venue remains a lasting feature of the city's sporting landscape. The stadium, the centerpiece of last year's Olympics, will have a 54,000 capacity once it is converted for use by the Premier League club, who have been granted a 99-year agreement.

West Ham may have won the keys to the Olympic Stadium but may have lost supporters as many feel aggrieved at the lack of consultation they received during the bidding process.
SportsDirect News spoke to fans group WHU's View and they claim that when the club leave their Boleyn Ground at the end of the 2015-16 season, they will not re-new their season tickets.
WHU’s View is made up by a group of fans who want the owners of West Ham United to engage more actively with the club’s supporters. It was initially set up in response to West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan’s pursuit of the Olympic Stadium without what they consider to be proper consultation with season ticket holders and Academy members.
West Ham polled 12,000 fans about the move, of which 85% were in favour. However, WHU’s View’s Alison Worth said that the consultation excluded a lot of the fans, particularly the demographic who don’t use the internet.
Worth told SportsDirect News that many supporters do not have email, including the elderly gentleman who sits next to her at the Boleyn Ground. She said that it was only a sample of the supporters who should have had a vote.
West Ham have an Olympic Stadium facts section on their website which states that all stake holders in the club were able to vote, but only electronically. The club did advertise the poll in their match day programme as well as in the stadium but a postal voting system was not employed after SMG-YouGov advised the club that online surveys would be more engaging as well as cover a broader area.
Worth, who also writes for the Over Land and Sea fanzine, has followed the whole process of the move, attending every LLDC meeting along the way and she does admit to being initially drawn in by the prospect of playing in a new stadium. Worth said: “The presentation that was sent out nearly changed my mind, but it was all smoke and mirrors.”
WHU’s View believe that all the facts are yet to come to light. Worth said: “The club have not disclosed everything.
“The Olympic Stadium will cost a one-off £15 million down payment that includes £2m a year rent for 25 days a season.” Worth is concerned by how all the other games that a club would play in a season will fit into a busy league schedule. According to Worth, providing West Ham remain in the Premier League, there would be just six spare days to play with in terms of potential cup fixtures.”
Worth added: “They signed a way half the naming rights revenue and half the catering revenue. They have leased it for 99 years in a building that has a 50 year guarantee.”
Worth is of the opinion that the Olympic Stadium move will in the long-run be catastrophic for West Ham.
She said: “All the season ticket fans I have spoken to said they just won’t re-new.” According to Worth, West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady said at a Supporters Advisory Board meeting in December that "anyone who wants to watch Premier League football in the Olympic Stadium, that is who I am after".
Worth added: “They don’t care about West Ham fans all that will happen is we will lose our home advantage.”

Sorry, but what a crap story the one about the olympic stadium consultation is. So a few people don't think they have had enough say in the move and are threatening, but probably won't, throw their toys out of the pram. The whole consultation thing is simply pr anyway. Does anyone really believe that fans thoughts or feelings matter to owners of a business? The move is going to happen and in all honesty could have happened without us being consulted at all. We bitch and moan and ask for the board to be sacked, manager to be sacked, chairman etc etc yet ultimately we know that all of the decisions are out of our hands. At the moment i think we should just embrace and support what is going on at our club because things are looking up and we could easily be out of business or looking at a future at lower league levels.
