Thats a bit harshclaret parrot wrote:Cheers CH. Chelsea signing Song makes sense as they can afford to drop him when his form dips whereas we need a player who can be reliably consistent. We know how good he can be but playing how he has recently, he's just an expensive luxury offering little in terms of value for money. Yeah not unlike sicknote I hear someone say.
But I do have my moments

Point is that his form won't dip when he is with a top team. That's why he plays well against most top teams he was selling himself to them which is what he wants. His form hasn't dipped he is just not bothering and only puts in a good show against the big boys so they will come knocking. This explains how he can be so good against Le Arse and then so poor against Sunderland next game, attitude issue.
IMO that's why Sully won't sign him, he knows that Song thinks we ain't big enough for him.

That's a point I hadn't even considered Ageing but it does make sense. Still for a mere £80k a week, you couldn't actually expect him to put in a proper shift could you?
p.s. Sorry Sicknote but I meant the lanky one made of papier mache, not you

Cheers CH. as always.
£10M for Pre Xmas Song is a steal
£10M for post Xmas Song is a big gamble
But as has been said, Chelsea have that luxury of £10M being small potatoes for them.

Champions elect Chelsea apparently willing to pay £10 million for a player that many of our support don't seem to think we should sign?

Re: monday's mews 30 march includes the irons
It does sound illogical put like that Dave but it looks rather like a question of suitability and motivation i.e. Chelsea have better players, better able to anticipate and capitalize on Song's expansive range of passing:
I was a pretty sh*t footballer in my youth but I could hit an accurate long pass. I guess I fancied myself as a bit of a Johnny Giles. I'd put a thirty five yard pass just ahead of my team-mate who'd look at me and utter "what the f*@k was that?" when if he'd bothered to stir himself and break into a trot, he'd have been on the end of it. Sadly they were even more sh*t than I was, and sometimes the knowledge of that fact could be depressingly wearing. Multiply the abilities of all concerned a thousandfold and maybe you have a similar situation at WHU ... I do have a certain sympathy with AS.
If as seems likely he considers himself too good for us (as he once according to our tame gooner considered himself too good for Arsenal) he maybe more arsed to run about a bit for them if ageing hammer's theory is correct as I suspect it may well be.
