Didn't work with the bond scheme. They went ahead with it. Aside from the fact they only got 1000 odd members and we still got a spanking new stand, but that's a different argument altogether.steptoe61 wrote:Frankly.... yes, if nobody organises a full on proper protest the club will never listen, typing on a ****ing keyboard wont do **** all will it.
So own up then, who was consulted ?

Reckon it put off a lot of fans though

The reason people haven't protested is because we are divided, a lot of people seem to want it, plus the fact that the club seem to be carrying on relentlessly whilst already knowing our opinions, has left alot of us resigned to apathy and thinking maybe we have been left behind for the 'Sky generation'

Re: So own up then, who was consulted ?
I've got to say that if I was a neutral, just turning on the news and reading the papers, I would have no idea that there was a great deal of opposition to the Olympic move from West Ham fans. Like it or not, you can't say that about Spurs.
Maybe that's the media being manipulated, who knows, but I doubt fans of other clubs will be loking at us and thinking we're being relocated against the wishes of a large proportion of the fans.

I've protested by not going anymore, that would be the only thing they really care about anyway

with regards to opposition the THFC bid was an absolute blessing for West Ham, because it complicated matters for our supporters and difused the anger

The thought of having those feckers on our manor did a lot to dilute the anger about teh running track, imo

I think the board were counting on it. Whoever did the threat analysis before our bid was made will be getting pats on the back all round, unanimous decision in our favour with Spurs competing for it is no mean achievement given they were very quiet about any interest for quite a while.Richard WHUFC wrote:with regards to opposition the THFC bid was an absolute blessing for West Ham, because it complicated matters for our supporters and difused the anger

Kind of, but not exactlyrare as rockinghorse shat wrote:That's what he just said, Stuart.
There might be a number of reasons West Ham fans don't want to move to the OS
There might be a number of reasons West Ham fans didn't want Tottenham to have the stadium.
For me, it boils down to 2 issues.
Stratford is West Ham territory, so Tottenham shouldn't have even been considered - which is the argument for us having it.
The other being the running track, which is the argument against us having it
To me, all other issues are small fry.
On balance, the thought of the running track, to me, is slightly more bearable than having Tottenham in Stratford
So now you have the same point made 3 times.

I was consulted. The other Week whilst I was giving Karren her weekly dose of love ferret, she leant back and said "Whaddya think about moving to Stratford"...Obviously in the throws of a full unload, followed by a make safe, I told her that it was a great idea.

I wasn't consulted, but if I had been I would have been a "don't know".
Perhaps that's why they didn't bother?

Karren Brady e-mailed me on October 22nd with an update on the bid, along with a list of 12 reasons why we should love it. Been in the loop the whole time.
