I believe it's not as long as a football pitch.

There's simply no comparison to the Olympic Stadiums and the two stadiums used in last yesterday's opening Euro games.

I'm sure Brady Gold and Sullivan have no reservations that the Olympic Stadium is a far superior strcuture, for more suitable as a football ground

52 pages on and over a thousand posts and we still ain't got a Scoobey what the stadium will look like even though we were told we would see plans by now and oh yeah what a full consultation of fans that was, can't see what the worry is afterall the 2 Daves have said 'trust them', we'll know before we kick off the new season in 2014

Well to be fair the LLDC not the club have changed the timetable meaning confidentiality clauses are still in place, so not a lot anyone can do about that.

Francoisvander or else, I take it you mean the roof not being suitable as it doesn't cover the seats. Until the roof is sorted you can have all the retractable seating you want but they will only be able to go as far as the roof.

The roof should logically cover everything apart from the pitch.

So if we end up with seats either retractable or temporary on the track, then they will already have covering.

as it stands the roof doesn't cover the track and if it rains the first few rows will get wet

LOL - as it stands right now the roof only covers the upper tier, so if it rains during the Olympics then everyone in the lower tier will get drenched!

Remains to be seen in the plans as to how much coverage the new roof will have.

Wasn't thinking about the roof more about the people in the front seats who are already at pitch level who wont be able to see if you put extra seats in front? The rake of the OS as discussed in plenty of other posts is extremely shallow, far too shallow in fact to take seats any closer to the pitch, even if you do take out all the lower tier and start again the tier would have to be built at such an angle that those in the middle tier will have their view obscured. The only way to do that is dig down and we dont think that will happen.......or do we

I'm no engineer, but I was thinking about retractable seating and I would have thought this would be feasible.

How does it retract, and where to?

Well it doesn't. I thought the lower tier was permanent concrete so unless they completely dig it all up I don't get how it will retract. I would say mine is removable seating not retractable.

But still no corpporate boxes, I thought that was where all the extra squillions of pounds was going to come from to make us compete at the highest level or is that just more G&S bukkshit

You could just take a few rows out of the upper tier for the boxes, I would imagine compared to the retractable seating that would be fairly straightforward.
