Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressOlympic Park legacy chief Andrew Altman leaves post (Grauniad)
The Telegraph reckons he's been shown the door for failing to get a tenant in place before the games.
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressAm i i the only one who thinks we aren't going to get the OS?? i'm convinced they are going to save themselves the hassle and probably a fair bit of money by giving it to somebody else!!!
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressWho else is going to substantially fill it every week?
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
If the list in the Telegraph today is correct (yes Adie I was wrong if it is correct): University of East London/ Essex Cricket Club - mainly want office/teaching space and to run a cricket academy, competitive cricket matches are not part of the bid but a possibly - minimal stadium use, low income to LLDC. University College of Football Business - want office/teaching space - no stadium use, low income to LLDC. Intelligent Transport Solutions - want to use it as base for a London Grand Prix - would only use the stadium for a few days of the year - major infrastructure costs to create a track out the roads around the stadium - Income? I would imagine quite good relative to the usage. then in terms of making sure the place is not a white elepahnt and brings substantial year round income the only game in town seems to be us. The list did actually include a certain minor club down the road but didn't think they warranted a comment.
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressTwo posts below from Peterborough fans forum on possibility of them moving to a new ground (and majority seem to want to stay at London Road).
I think it would be the excitement of a smart new ground that would pull fans in.... It would without a doubt boost the attendances I reckon... It certainly worked for Darlington, Rushden, Chester and Scarborough???
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressCan anyone really see the olympic stadium/park being used as a grand prix racing track. This sounds like the worst idea ever!
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
Agree 100% I think the cars might damage the track!! LOL Even driving around it ......somehow.....? How would this work with canals, shopping centres, homes?? I know it is done at Monaco but I really cannot see how it is possible at Stratford and in my humble opinion will not happen..... I think they really are desperate as there is really only one option for a future stadium user at the moment. Even if the Grand Prix idea did happen it would not prevent us getting it as the once a year race is not on the pitch area....
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressYep, fair enough we do seem to be the obvious and most logical choice to get the stadium!
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
No. what possible use would the stadium be to a grand prix ? While as for the park not without appreciable adaptation and nuisance and inconvenience incommensurate with a once a year event.
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and PressThey like driving round in circles in NASCAR racing. Maybe that's what they are thinking. An F1 circular track.
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
do you really think they give a s**t? remember the dome
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
which is (hopefully) precisely why we wont get it, when did governments ever do the logical thing.
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Pressnote that "Bubbles" is on the playlist for the opening ceremony
interesting...

It is as well, although it's not official just yet!
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Presshttp://www.standard.co.uk/search/simple ... um%3B+2015
Evening Standard reporting that it'll be 2015 before the stadium is ready. Reference to the running track being covered with some form of seating.
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
Why would they make the track circular given they want to use the entire Olympic Park to stage it on?
Re: Olympic Stadium Latest News and Press
I'd put money on it..
