Prophet Marginal:

Ms Knight did not have a vote and is not a director of the OPLC.

The club are standing by Mr Tompkins because he has done nothing wrong and there are no secret payments.

Therefore there is no corruption from West Ham Utd FC.

If the Filth had grubby private eyes checking on the Olympic Selection Commitee - its not exactly going to endear them in any future bid process is it? They seem to be pissing off top politicans too. This is really is very sordid and desperate indeed and is nothing more than a scorched earth policy. They never wanted the OS - they just wanted to do everything they can to stop us! Clearly everything to stop us! The bile and hatred of Barry Hearne (so irrational). Is he being paid blood money! Even the Robby Keane repeatedly missing open goals for us starts to look a bit more dubious and not the total incompetence it would seem; and it was his agent that spilled the beans on MON coming in.

This is not football this is war .. someone called Levy is trying to destroy us, wipe us into the dirt. The whole thing is rotten to the core - and for a change its not us at fault - the smell is coming from North London. I do hope there is such as thing as karma because we are due some in spades.

I wonder what the members of Harringay councils planning department think of this ?

Tottenham Hotspurs willingness to employ dirt diggers to feed a story to the Dirty Digger , would surely not be restricted to just the OPLC members .

I would assume if this is their modus operandi they would deploy the same tactics against other public officials .

They have admitted targtetting 14 public officials to find something - anything with regards the bidding process for Stratford , it would make me wonder were I sat on the planning team in Harringay , what part of my private life had been subject to dirt digging ?

This episode reflects very very badly upon Tottenham Hotspur .

As for the Sunday Times , perhaps an insight investigation into the tax affairs of Joe Lewis would be more apporpiate - or even one of his , ahem, employees :arry:

Agree completely on that - particularly with her in a personal relationship with someone at West Ham.

That said, the club have been at pains to point out that her consultancy was with the Legacy Services Partnership - as opposed to the club.

LBN have equal say in who is appointed on the partnership.

Perhaps there is some salacious menage a trois going on with someone from LBN - perhaps the embittered ex-councillor

Next weeks instalment, no doubt.

Can someone tell me the name of this councillor??

It's only fair that I even up the investigation.

Ha ha - the bit about Keane would normally be absolute codswallop but I must admit, I do question it myself sometimes. Wonder if he was getting double bubble wages ?? Nah surely not......

The Karma bit - I think there are more than just our support who would like that. Most clubs in the country now seem to have a hatred towards that club now. They seem to think that cos they managed to make the CL ONCE that they are some sort of super club now and anyone or thing that gets in their way will be dealt with.

Let the Sunday Times run their story , then hit back with a strongly worded statement as the paper hit's the news stands .

I hope the club really does follow up with a legal pursuit of all concerned .

Scandalous behaviour by Tottenham and their agents , and a disappointing piece by the ST, part of the same Murdoch stable that our CEO writes a column for .

Perhaps in the light of their willingness to attack a club employee, in such a viscious and personal way , she may wish to reconsider her views being published in the ST sister paper, the Sun .

Looks like Daniel Levy knew what he was doing when he demanded a Judicial Review.

Ms Knight did not have a vote and is not a director of the OPLC.
I hear you; but its odd that she is named as having a vote in the report.
The club are standing by Mr Tompkins because he has done nothing wrong and there are no secret payments.
Have the club suspended him?
Therefore there is no corruption from West Ham Utd FC.
I didn't make that claim.
Whether the payments were secret or not, I don't know, but one thing doesn't actually cause the other. Your use of the term 'therefore' may be misplaced.
Lets see what the legal action brings before coming to conclusive judgments?

His name is Mike Law.

Haven't you followed any of his blogs? The club must've been, given the content.

There are two separate issues to be resolved here.

1. The alleged "corruption" strikes me as very odd. Purely on the reports I have read, some pretty trivial sums (£500 and £1000) were paid from a West Ham bank account to a personal account, leaving as transparent an audit trail as possible. Whether these payments were for actual work or not remains to be seen, but both Knight and West Ham have made them easy to find.

As a side issue, in some professions it is not uncommon to act for and against an organization. For example, many barristers will both prosecute and defend. The issue may not be quite analogous, but the CPS may instruct a barrister to act and advise in certain cases, that same barrister defending other clients prosecuted by the CPS. It is surely possible for West Ham to pay a consultant for legitimate work who, in turn, is also paid by the Olympic committee.

2. The investigative work. It is not easy getting hold of bank statements and utility bills. They can only be obtained legally by a Court production order or through law enforcement powers (I.e. Searches and production powers, which have legal backing). There are plenty of unlawful ways, including theft, via dishonest contacts within organisations etc. How this evidence was obtained could emerge as the bigger story.

My gut feeling - this story will be forgotten by next week, with a cheque coming West Ham's way in the not too distant future. I stress this is simply a gut feeling.....

This definately beats the £5,000 deal for Alan Devonshire.

£20,000 to buy the £500M Olympic Stadium...
