A couple of us walked from The Black Lion to The Olympic Stadium via Greenway (the sewer bank) - it took 35 minutes to get there. No lighting in the winter so that route is not an option.

Never been in there. The Tiger is rough, but is a decent size. Space for plenty of fans.

The Cow looks to be the nearest one to the stadium and is part of the new Stratford City complex.
Was in there last night, 2 gin and tonics £14.80.Phew...
Good music there though.

I doubt I would drink in Stratford. Seems a lot of hassle, and few decent pubs. I will probably drink either in my old haunt, The Bow Bells in Bow, (shock lol), or with mates in the Walnut Tree near Leytonstone Station. In the latter, I have non-football fan mates in Leytonstone who would let the designated driver park in their drive, and it would be easy to get back to the North Circular and then M11 from there.

I forgot to say that they were large ones, I am used to paying a quid extra for a large one so was a bit shocked when I tried to pay with my tenner.
I also forgot to say that a single sausage roll is £3.50, get used to it folks.
As for becomming a wetherspoons, I doubt that very much.
The Cow was doing a roaring trade and although its early days and people are just trying things out, I expect it to last.
Everything there is aimed at the upper market, you see Asperys yet?
There is and will be a lot of money spent in these places, the blurb on the website says they have a catchment area for shoppers of 4.1 million people, incredible if true.
I can sort of see where G&S are coming from in all of this, if only we had a half decent stadium though.

You know how to make yourself popular with the locals  I would love to see the reaction after you turned a mosque back into a pub. Are you planning to sell pork based snacks just for the **** and giggles too?

Perhaps better to make an offer for the Driver. Last time I had a pint there, they had cleared away all the stoned metalheads from the floor.

I would have thought chain pubs and bars would be falling over themselves to set up near the Olympic Stadium if and when it comes back into use. Things could all be very different by the time West Ham plays its first game there.

Exactly. Right now this thread is about as relevant as John Major.

Seconded mate. Will still go in there whatever, half an hour walk isn't too bad I suppose, doubt it would even be that either! I reckon(hope) loads of Hammers will still drink there when we move, if not, I'll be drinking in central London instead.
