Re: Spurs 'spying'
It will be interesting how the papers play this.
On BBC London tonight the Olypmpic Stadium journalist Warner tried to avoid linking this to Spurs in his summary..err who employed this firm who employed these criminals?
The issue is if Spurs had found something and exposed it to the media by these 'spying' means they would be applauded by all. However, they haven't and are seen as the obvious candidates for the reason why this illegal activity happened. So, why haven't Spurs been charged by the police or the premier league for being complete a^seholes and liars...

Press Association story:
Apprentice star and West Ham United vice chairman Karren Brady's mobile
phone bills were accessed by a private investigator, a court has heard.
Prosecutor Mark Dennis QC told a sentencing hearing at Southwark Crown
Court that Brady was targeted after Tottenham Hotspur commissioned
accountancy firm PKF to examine the bidding process for the right to
play at the Olympic Stadium.
The Olympic Park Legacy Company (OPLC) announced in February 2011 that
West Ham would be given preferred bidder status for the stadium.
Howard Hill, a former partner at PKF, employed private investigators to
get information on West Ham and the OPLC.
Brady and West Ham joint chairmen David Gold and David Sullivan were
among the people who became "the focus of attention for this activity",
Mr Dennis said.
The mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales and several prominent figures in the
OPLC were also targeted.
Tottenham have always denied any involvement in the illegal activity.
Hill, 59, from Stockport in Greater Manchester, was given a GBP100,000
fine at Southwark Crown Court after pleading guilty at an earlier
hearing to obtaining personal data contrary to the Data Protection Act
1998.
Richard Forrest, 31, from Crawley, West Sussex, was given a GBP10,000
fine, and Lee Stewart, 40, from Esher in Surrey, was fined GBP13,250 after
admitting the same charge

Re: Spurs 'spying'
The threat of prison sentences might have got them to spill the beans on Spurs involvement. Oh well, we'll just have to keep beating them on the pitch.
Re: Spurs 'spying'
The FA need to have a look at this, legally spurs may be in the clear but the burden of proof is different for an FA enquiry, they have their slimy fingers all over this.

Re: Spurs 'spying'
That's right, the premier League needs to make sure that trust between club owners has not been abused here, just like what happened with our Tevez deal.
True, legally it will be hard or nigh impossible to prove that Spurs were involved. But why would the three spies act unlawfully on their own behalf ? The spies just did a job, I reckon they deal with that kind of stuff on a regular basis and that's why Spurs hired them in the first place.
It was about getting sensitive information, the kind of information which most probably could only be obtained by illegal means. Now surely Spurs/Levy were well aware that illegal methods might be necessary.
So in a way they agreed to those means silently just by hiring these people.
Or are we really supposed to believe that Levy sat down with the spies and told them specifically "You got to keep this all legal, you know ? No illegal stuff at all, but remember: I need this sensitive information from West Ham and newham council - good luck!" ?
This stinks. The only party benefitting from the information obtained by illegal means would have been Spurs, the spies just did a job to earn some money. It's right that the crimnals were punished obviously, but the employers of the criminals should also be put on trial. If not in court, then by the football authorities.
